Job description

Role Purpose:

To manage and coordinate Coleus Packaging Pty Ltd (People, Plant, Process and Systems) in order to achieve the required standard of crown quality and output in the most efficient and profitable manner.

Key responsibilities:

• Accountable for commercial, organizational and technical interests and for presiding over the business’ day-to-day, month-to-month and year-to-year operations. Overall management of the business to ensure business profitability.
• Successfully manage a turnaround strategy
• Management and implementation of CAPEX and projects
• Co-ordinate inbound and outbound logistics
• Act as the key player in driving sales through relationships with Procurement and with external stakeholders
• Corporate governance and compliance to legislative requirements
• Manage financial performance through implementation of financial controls and ensuring compliance to ZBB
• Manage safety, housekeeping and environmental standards
• Ensure product quality
• Ensure plant productivity & manufacturing efficiency
• Manage human resources by implementing relevant people practices to ensure a healthy employee relations climate
• Conduct fiduciary duties as a director
• Drive innovation and value engineering
• Implement, entrench and improve the use and effectiveness of VPO in all Pillars (namely, Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, People, Management and Environmental)
• Drive new product development
• Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with the unions and their representatives

Role profile:

• A relevant 3 year tertiary degree ;
• At least 8 Years manufacturing experience at senior levels;
• Experience in packaging;
• Commercial Acumen;
• FMCG experience an added advantage.
• Continually strives for better systems and benchmarked methods
• People management experience
