    Academic Staff Development Professional - (A807.1)

    Job Primary Purpose

    • The primary purpose of this job is to plan, design, implement, and evaluate student professional development programmes that enhance academic success, employability, entrepreneurship, and leadership capacity.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Plan, design, implement, and evaluate student professional development programmes.
    • Provide guidance and support to students.
    • Talent Management and Leadership Development.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and report on professional development initiatives.
    • Minimum Requirements:

    Educational Qualifications:

    • M+4 Postgraduate Degree in Education/Honours in Education.
    • Master’s Degree in Education as an added advantage.

    Years of Experience:

    • Seven years’ experience in student development, academic support, or leadership training.

    Inherent Requirements:

    • Prior experience is necessary to understand student needs, institutional dynamics, and programme delivery methods directly impacting student success.
    • The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage diverse student populations and stakeholders effectively.
    • Proficiency in digital tools and platforms is essential for programme delivery, monitoring, and reporting in a modern academic environment.

    Key Competencies

    • Ability to plan, design, implement, and evaluate student development programmes.
    • Ability to support students with different learning styles through providing inclusive academic programmes and personal well being support to students or refer students to the relevant department.
    • Academic writing skills.
    • Skills to work within teams/ teamwork.
    • Coaching and mentoring skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
    • Competence in tracking, assessing, and reporting on programme outcomes.
