Civil Site Agent at RPO Recruitment

Job Description

• RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join its Durban operations. This role is suited to a driven construction professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale civil infrastructure projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage civil construction projects from commencement through to successful completion.
• Coordinate site personnel, subcontractors, plant and resources to achieve project objectives.
• Develop and monitor construction programmes, ensuring works are completed on schedule.
• Oversee daily production, monitor costs and implement corrective actions where required.
• Prepare monthly progress reports, revenue claims, cost estimates and project forecasts.
• Ensure accurate quantity measurements, cost tracking and financial reporting throughout the project.
• Manage procurement of materials in line with project budgets and cash flow requirements.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, health and safety legislation, and company procedures.
• Lead, mentor and develop site teams to achieve optimal project performance.

Requirements:

• National Diploma, BTech or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years' experience in a Site Agent role within the civil construction industry.
• Professional registration as Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng, or Pr CM/Pr CPM will be highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of civil construction contracts, project planning and site management.
