    Engineer - Battery Electric Vehicle

    Main tasks

    • Technical/Engineering support for Battery Technicians
    • Read and understand electrical drawings
    • Able to write Safe Work Procedures
    • Manage inventory and or manage spare parts – liaison with Division
    • Deliver online(remote) and onsite customer support
    • Champion inventory levels and spares availability as well as tracking
    • Work on high voltage components within battery systems
    • Set up Wi-Fi connectivity both in workshop and client site
    • Update software on battery and battery sub packs
    • Refill and test Sub pack cooling
    • Work closely with technical services to co-ordinate maintenance requirements
    • Draft technical reports post repair or maintenance tasks
    • Train technicians on battery systems
    • Assemble and disassemble battery components
    • Fault find battery, charger, and cooling system components
    • Rebuild battery, battery sub packs and all their components
    • Drive root cause analysis and reliability improvement program for electric vehicles and battery packs
    • Liaise with Product Company for product development and improvement of products and solutions
    • Repair and maintenance of battery pack sub-components
    • Drive safety and assist in development of Safe Operating Procedures related to battery electric vehicles and Li-Ion battery packs
    • Develop continuous improvement programs to support operation and maintenance of battery electric vehicles in the field

    Requirements

    • Engineering Degree in either Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or Millwright Qualification (Electrical High Voltage certification)
    • A good knowledge of English both written and spoken
    • Mining and/or mining vehicle experience (Underground preferable but not essential)
    • Customer support experience
    • Good administrative skills
    • Confident in technical report writing
    • Effective communication and organizational skills
    • Be willing and able to travel with a valid passport
    • Experience delivering training 
    • Both mechanical and electrical skills or an ability to acquire desired skills (Millwright or preferable)
    • Ability and willingness to work long or irregular hours
    • A forward-thinking attitude and an aptitude to embrace innovative technologies and concepts
    • Good organizational skills
