General Manager: Legal Metrology at National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS)

KPA/ Key outputs:

• Lead and Direct the Division including Business Planning, Strategy Development and Improvements
• Lead and Manage the Division Establish and Maintain Strategic Partnerships with Government Departments, Industry and Foreign Missions
• Oversee the monitoring of compliance of Products Regulated to the Relevant Legislation
• Facilitate the Development and Amendments of Technical Regulations in the Accountable Field
• Lead and Direct the Harmonisation of Technical Regulations and Participate in National, Regional and International Forums
• Oversee and Take Accountability for the Accreditation of Inspections, Type Approvals, Calibration and Assessment Functions for the Accountable Field
• People Management

Requirements

Requirements/ Experience:

• B Tech or B Degree (NQF level 7) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or in related engineering or science
• Postgraduate qualification in above fields or Business Management provides added advantage.
• 10 years in the related field, of which 5 years have been at management level and Senior Management experience will be advantageous.
