    Head Of Human Resources

    The Role

    The Head: People drives the implementation of strategically-aligned services and projects through a team of HR specialists; reports to the CFO, serves on the senior management team; and acts as a trusted advisor for the company’s managers on a broad range of People issues.      The Detail

    People strategy and operations

    • Develops and articulates a multi-dimensional People strategy for the group with subsequent milestone achievement monitoring.
    • Provides strategic leadership for programs and services, (e.g. Performance Management, Recruitment, Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, Employee Health, Wellbeing and Safety, Employee Relations, HR Operations etc.).
    • Monitors adherence to established standards and procedures. Identifies opportunities for improvement and resolves any discrepancies.
    • Supervises and mentors HR representatives, including setting performance goals, career development, conducting performance reviews, and final hiring decisions, etc.
    • Leads the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.

    Optimization of HR Technology

    • Continuously seeks opportunities to drive a digital transformation agenda within the broader HR context.
    • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to find opportunities to integrate HR systems with the company’s technology framework to optimize the user experience.
    • Consult with HR and Business leaders to design, build and deliver people analytics solutions to enable data-driven people decisions.

    Skills Development

    • Conducts an ongoing review and development of the learning platform that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment, employee onboarding, management development, production cross-training, 
    • Tracks and reports on the impact of training interventions (ROI) and training transfer.

    Talent Acquisition

    • Ensures the establishment of progressive recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.
    • Develops and articulates communications that serves to enhance the Ignition Group as an employer of choice.

    Organization Development

    • Designs, directs and manages a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.
    • Leads a process of organization development that plans, communicates, and integrates the results of strategic planning throughout the organization.

    Employee Engagement

    • Seeks to continuously optimise the performance management platform with embedded KPI’s, a bespoke competency framework and employee development activities.
    • Develops and manages employee communication and feedback mechanisms and tracks the performance metrics thereof.
    • Identifies and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
    • Provides leadership on issues related to organizational culture and values that attract, retain, and motivate quality people.

     Employee Relations

    • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.

     Legislative Compliance

    • Responsible for company compliance with all existing government legislation and all reporting requirements. 
    • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.

    Are you this person?

    Education

    • Matric / grade 12
    • Degree in Human Resources or equivalent commercial qualification (at minimum)

    Experience Required

    • A minimum of eight (8) years Human Resource Executive experience
    • Possess in-depth understanding of current national and international debates around HR and talent management models, practices and related approaches
    • Demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge of, and experience in the people requirements of complex, progressive organization.
    • Exposure to a digital marketing, financial services or telco environment would be highly beneficial

    Special Skills Required

    • Computer literate: Extensive knowledge of Office 365
    • Broad understanding of the HRTech arena and related fields
    • Ability to conceptualize and apply people analytics practices
    • Customer and employee centricity
    • Results orientation
    • Ability to think creativity and do more with less
    • Self-motivated and disciplined
