IT Analyst at SMEC

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and energized IT Analyst to join a leading infrastructure consultancy and contribute to the growth and development of a business with a reputation for technical excellence and strong client relationships.

REPORTS TO

Senior IT Manager or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time.

PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE

• Providing the necessary IT Support to the Senior IT Manager and other relevant personnel.
• KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• With a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Domain environment, the key responsibilities are:
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications for new staff and upgrades on existing staff’s computers
• Maintaining computer systems and networks
• Setting up new users' accounts and profiles
• Providing user support either face to face, telephonically, via skype or other remote support software
• Maintaining computer systems and networks
• Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
• Keep ticketing system up to date, resolving or escalating cases as required
• Doing weekly and monthly checks as per ICT quality procedure
• Replacing parts as required
• Troubleshooting which includes computer and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware and software faults
• Providing support to the IT Manager and Group IT manager which includes procedural documentation and relevant reports and ensuring documentation and reports are up to date
• Ensuring the successful backup of data
• Ensuring that the printers are in good running condition and enough supplies are available always
• Providing IT support to Pretoria, Polokwane SMEC & Soillab office and site staff.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric
• Working knowledge in A+ and N+ required
• 2+ Years working experience in a Domain environment
• Microsoft Certification(s) will be advantageous
• ITIL Foundation certification will be advantageous
• Knowledge in MS Office 2013/2016 and Office 365
• Knowledge in MS Server 2012/2016
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent admin skills
