The Sol Plaatje University, which had provisionally been referred to as the University of the Northern Cape, opened in Kimberley, South Africa, in 2014, accommodating a modest initial intake of 135 students. The incumbent will be expected to ensure that practicals offered to students conform to the highest quality standards and support the teaching, research, and community engagement objectives of the Department.
The applicant will also be expected to conduct preparatory work for practicals.
Minimum Requirements.
Relevant Degree NQF7 Chemistry.
Specialist knowledge related to the specific laboratory.
Laboratory and/or industry experience.
Computer literate.
Driver’s License.
Recommendations
A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
Intention to register for a higher qualification.
Duties and Responsibility
Ensure the instrument and equipment management in the department.
Conduct the preparatory work for education and training during practicals.
Ensure health and safety management rules & protocols in the Department
Contribute to the research agenda of the department
Participate in personal and professional development.
Develop relevant monitoring, evaluation, and reporting tools.
