Our client in the Financial Services Industry dealing with all aspects of South African and international tax and tax-related law,  is currently looking to hire a Litigation Attorney to join their well-balanced team of chartered accountants and compliance experts in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Requirements: 

• LLB Degree
• Experience in Litigation 
• Admitted Attorney
• Ability to research in-depth and able to hold technical arguments
• Highly motivated and driven; self-starter
• Comfortable learning new technologies
• Process-oriented
• Able to work in a high pressure,  fast-paced environment

Key responsibilities:

• Managing your own clients.
• Drafting legal and technical opinions.
• Research on various areas of law.
• Advisory and compliance.
• Ability to research in-depth and able to hold technical arguments.
• Providing general tax advice.
• Invoicing clients and tracking billables.
• Assisting consultants and other internal staff with legal research.
• Miscellaneous assistance to Line Manager/Director.
• Reviewing opinions and articles drafted by internal staff/attorneys.
• Contract drafting and analysing terms of agreements.
• Sound judgment and outstanding analytical and contractual skills.
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and confidence.  
• Ability to provide practical legal advice and risk assessment.
• Ability to work to tight and/or conflicting deadlines.
• Drafting contracts, including internal company contracts on an ad hoc basis.
