Role Overview

This role delivers business communication to Business Unit staff, stakeholders and customers, in line with OML communication protocols and guidelines.  The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through their own efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication plans for the various internal and external audiences.

• Interview, collect content data and write communication messages directed at selected audiences – including staff, stakeholder or customer digital communications.

• Identify communication opportunities and/or brand risks and develop messages to leverage/mitigate these issues.

• Monitor the internal (staff) and external (customer/stakeholder) communications audience and develop approaches to increase readership/engagement rates.

• Manage, in partnership with Central Communications and PR team, the optimisation of MFC coverage via the various social and PR media channels.

• Provide communication support to the MFC Senior Management group in terms of internal communications and selected scripting requirements for the stakeholder function.

Requirements

• A degree or equivalent in Communications or Journalism

• Minimum 3 years experience working in a Communications environment (Corporate environment ideal)

• Experience in financial services advantageous

• Proficient in MS Office

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Advanced editing skills

• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines

• Experience with social media platforms

• Experience working with digital content management

Preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.
