    Operations Engineer - Brackenfell

    Purpose of the Job    

    • To implement engineering projects related to DC infrastructure, systems and procedures to make Shoprite Supply Chain more competitive through the application of engineering principles, either as project manager or project resource. 

    Job Objectives    

    • Needs analysis as input to strategy development. 
    • Business Case compilation and CAPEX approvals management. 
    • Project plan and supporting documentation. 
    • Project performance management / monitoring (Cost, Timeframes, Quality, Show stoppers). 
    • Project integration along with supply chain support team. 
    • Project stakeholder management. 
    • Resource management. 
    • Business continuity and disaster recovery.  
    • Procurement (contract) / Supplier management. 
    • Facilitate implementation of project / Implementation and post implementation support. 
    • Supply chain best practice research and implementation. 
    • Assist the Systems Department with data analysis. 
    • Liaise with the Facilities department on projects. 
    • Large data set analysis, (programming experience preferable). 
    • Investigation into the new technology available in the market for distribution centres. 
    • Recycling champion for the Western Cape division. 
    • System setting assessment and improvement. 

    Qualifications    

    • Industrial Engineering Degree

    Experience    

    • 2 - 5 Years related experience within a Distribution Centre environment 

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • Great research and reporting skills.
    • Strong understanding of operations, services, and applications.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Large data set analysis (programming experience preferable)
    • A talent for technical innovation understanding.
