Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience post-registration.
Experience in an industrial working environment, including waste water plants, sewer pump stations, and bulk water plants.
Exposure to high noise levels, methane, H2S, and chlorine gases; required to wear appropriate PPE (safety boots, overall, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves).
Physically fit and able to inspect industrial plants, including climbing ladders and tanks.
Valid Driver’s Licence.
Knowledge of local authority legislation, regulations, and policies.
Willingness to work after hours to meet project deadlines.
Key Performance Areas:
Improve the reliability of equipment and optimize maintenance costs.
Ensure optimum utilization of maintenance resources and staff safety.
Keep the Fixed Asset Register up to date, ensuring the Water Services items on the Financial Asset Register are accurately valued for depreciation.
Identify and analyze information to improve the performance of plant and equipment.
Keep Plant and Maintenance Managers informed about maintenance performance, cost, and underperforming equipment in terms of cost and failure rates.
Ensure records are maintained, requests/instructions followed, and equipment and materials are procured on time.
