Procurement Officer at Shoprite Group of Companies

About the role    

• Join Shoprite as a Procurement Officer, a pivotal role responsible for executing procurement operations for fixtures, fittings, and equipment across multiple supermarket brands.
• This position requires expertise in order processing, shipment tracking, warehousing, and stakeholder communication, ensuring seamless coordination within the international procurement framework.
• The role demands strong skills in vendor management, capital expenditure procurement, and executive documentation preparation, contributing to strategic decision-making on pricing, specifications, and product selection.
• Ideal candidates will have experience in supply chain logistics, procurement systems, and cross-functional collaboration at an operational to mid-senior level, driving efficiency and growth in a leading retail environment.

What you'll do    

• Managing the direct importation of Fixtures, Fitting & Equipment from international suppliers.
• Source and obtain quotations, commercial invoices, and proforma invoices from approved (by the FFE team) international suppliers.
• Schedule procurement activities and generate purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Monitor and manage the tracking, recording, and documentation of orders to ensure accurate receipt and timely arrival of goods.
• Communicate order details clearly and effectively with internal- and external stakeholders.
• Manage stock levels and coordinate the distribution of articles and spare parts via our National Distribution Centres.
• Manage the entire process from receiving an allocation to successful delivery to end customers.
• Prepare and present regular reports to management on procurement, expenditure reduction and inventory status.

What you bring    

• Diploma or degree in Logistics or operations qualification is preferable.
• Data processing and analysis skills in MS Office 365 with an intermediate level of Excel skills.
• Ability to review technical documents such as specifications, designs, shipping documents, etc.
