    Product Manager

    The Product Manager will be responsible for multiple products within the department. They will be responsible for the product features and processes, driving products end-to-end including growth of the product, and collaborate with numerous cross-functional teams (both technical and non-technical) to coordinate and manage the products in their portfolio.

    The Flash Group is looking for an experienced, high-potential, flexible, innovative, and forward-thinking Product Manager to join the Group Product team. You will have a high degree of ownership and mandate over the products, it’s growth and the customer experience. The successful candidate must be an excellent planner and have the ability to think long term.

    We are looking for someone who can flow effortlessly between the big picture vision of ‘Making People’s Lives Easier’ and the critical details needed to bring a product to market in the informal and formal retail space, launch preparedness is key. The successful candidate will be customer focused and have a passion for managing and growing products that are impactful and commercially viable. This person will thrive in a fast-paced and robust environment, embrace ambiguity with critical analytical thinking, and drive end-to-end product growth with buy in from key internal and external stakeholders.

    You will be responsible for (but not limited to):

    • The products and its success end to end.
    • The growth of product turnover and penetration into the market segments and channels.
    • Collaborating with numerous cross-functional teams (both technical and non-technical) to coordinate and manage product changes, processes and growth.
    • Developing detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories, in collaboration with our product development team and systems architects.
    • Driving the technical process with the relevant teams and cells, including daily stand-ups.
    • Maximizing business value (the “in”) from a product
    • Work closely with divisions that monetize the product or service to assist in maximizing the “out”
    • Regular communication with senior management on commercial health, product status, risks and change controls
    • Identifying opportunities to accelerate customer acquisition, grow engagement, and increase product usage per channel
    • Collaborating with all internal (out) channel teams (informal, aggregation and onine/App) to identify key growth opportunities and develop the strategies and tactics to capture and measure the value of those opportunities
    • Gathering market research and studying industry trends

    You will need to have:

    • 3+ years of relevant product management experience
    • Relevant tertiary qualification
    • Experience managing multiple projects/products from concept to deployment.
    • Good Technical competency / good understanding of system architecture and the constraints thereof
    • Very strong EQ and business acumen
    • Great logical problem-solving skills 
    • Strong ability to manage priorities and do self learning of the industry/product and relating concepts
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Extreme tension to detail
    • Good negotiation skills to prioritize projects and get commitments from internal stakeholders, including product development teams and leaders at multiple levels across the organization and with external partners where required
    • Experience working in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams
    • An unparalleled bias for action with an ability to operate in an ambiguous, dynamic, robus and fast paced environment with tight deadlines
    • An understanding of digital marketing channels and how to best leverage them for growth
    • Previous experience creating product campaigns
    • A passion for understanding the data and deriving decisions based the understanding gained
    • Needs to put the customer first
    • Ability to work with and influence remote teams

    • Long, proven track record of owning a product end to end and the success thereof
