What will you be doing?

We have an exciting learning opportunity for a Laboratory intern, which will include exposure, understanding and application of the following: 

• Sampling of raw material, in line production and final product for laboratory analysis. 
• Perform or verify work affecting the results of laboratory activities
• Ensuring the effectiveness of laboratory activities
• Analysis of test items for the laboratory’s internal & external customers
• Reporting of laboratory results
• Control of data in Laboratory Management System, which includes data capturing on LIMS
• Chemical Preparation following the methodology and updating relevant records

Qualification Requirements    

• Grade 12
• In progress (3rd / final year) with their Diploma in: Food Technology/ Biotechnology

Experience Requirements    

• No experience

Skills and Competencies    

• Safe laboratory practices
• Proper handling of lab equipment 
• Analytical techniques 
• Problem-solving skills 
• The ability to follow instructions and focus for extended periods. 
• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems 
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
• Basic equipment verification techniques
• Reporting and communication
