Purpose

• To ensure that all dividends are fed through correctly to relevant internal stakeholders.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum BCom Degree; Certificate in Financial Markets and JSE Exams advantageous.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in the corporate actions or JSE custody environment; Background in equity derivatives advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue listen advise influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes.
• Initiate meetings with key stakeholders to track progress manage expectations and ensure stakeholders requirements are delivered.
• Preserves relationships despite airing conflicting views and seeks mutual gains when addressing conflicts.

• Check that all correct rates and payment dates have been fed into source systems.
• Draw funding payments report from Geneva on a weekly basis before payment date and send to RMB Stock Broking.
• Receive cash dividends report from the Finesse server.
• Check that all cash dividends in Finesse match to all cash dividends in Geneva for portfolio.
• Receive RMB diary from Custody on a weekly basis.
• Compile a new diary and send to relevant stakeholders.
• Send LDT positions to respective desks on a weekly basis
• Reconcile the JSE and RMB diaries to check that all dividends on loans (short positions) have been paid over to RMB Securities Lending.
• Check that all cash dividend trades have been booked correctly for their specific elections.
• Check that the dependent event reorganization ratio is correct and that all allocations are reflected in relevant portfolios.
• Attach all emails from relevant desks to reconciliations for auditors.
• Create nil paid letters of allocation on Geneva.
• Take up the rights or let them lapse.
• Keep a record of all STC credits paid to and paid from RMB.
• Keep a record of all dividends paid to and from RMB.
• Send records of STC credits and dividends to FirstRand tax on a weekly basis.
• Obtain elections from dealers in terms of cash or shares and send to RMB Stock Broking.
• Book the shares or cash trades for payment on a specific date.
• Demonstrates pride in the organizations brand services and products by consistently delivering on the brands promise.
• Plan and manage own workflow anticipating obstacles juggling priorities and following through on objectives within agreed time-frames and according to quality standards.
