Senior COBOL Programmer(IT 14) at Werkie

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based software systems
• Provide advanced support for existing systems
• Lead and mentor junior programmers within the team
• Work directly with end-users to solve complex technical problems and provide professional support
• Perform regular database maintenance and optimization
• Handle administrative and senior development-related tasks
• Be available for support and willing to travel from time to time if needed

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics
• Minimum 5 years' practical experience in COBOL programming
• Valid driver’s license and reliable own transport
• Any additional qualification is advantageous
• Extensive experience with IBM i (AS400) systems is essential
• At least 2 years' management experience
• Willingness to work extended hours and on weekends
• Computer skills and knowledge of the MS Office suite
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
