Senior Database Administrator at Datacentrix

Our external client is currently in a process in recruiting for a Senior Database Administrator to based in Rustenburg - North West for a 12 Months Contract  to be owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (eg. database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
Responsibilities

• Deployment of Data standards and procedures
• Deployment of Data standards and procedures
• Design, Plan and develop data integration layers
• Performance tuning and optimization of data structures and built logic layers (Queries, Stored Procedures, Views.
• Deployment of Databases
• Perform Disaster recovery and testing of DR
• Perform ad-hoc data extractions and imports
• Build and publish ad-hoc reports
• Design, plan and develop data structures for new in house development projects
• Perform Data migrations between servers and databases
• Storage and capacity planning
• Backup strategies
• Management of Data environments
• Enforce and entrench data governance rules and procedures.
• Security management
• User management
• Completed Matric (Grade 12)

Qualifications, Experience, Skills / Knowledge

• Completed Computer Science Diploma/Degree, or other relevant qualification
• 3-6 Years’ experience relating to:
• Advanced Reporting experience (MS SSRS 2005, 2008,2012)
• Advanced ETL experience (MS SSIS 2005, 2008, 2012)
• Advanced SQL Server configuration / optimization capabilities
• Visual Studio knowledge (MS VS 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013)
• Advanced IT skills to support hardware, software and understanding of networks (LAN / WAN)
• Advanced SDLC Knowledge and experience (I.e. PMBOK)
• Apply and Implement Best Practice Techniques while developing
• Moderate system analysis skills
• Team Foundation Server knowledge and experience
• MS SQL 2000 knowledge and experience
• Project Management experience, knowledge and skills
