    Senior Manager: Employee Relation

    REFERENCE: R&S/GHCM/GMOD/015

    DEPARTMENTAL MISSION: To manage and drive sound employee relations within the Group. 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs):

    • Contribute to the development and review of the Group HCM strategy.
    • Develop ER policies, codes, practices, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Facilitate establishment of collective bargaining structures.
    • Review and negotiate collective agreements.
    • Represent the organisation in the relevant employer organisation and bargaining council in the rail industry.
    • Represent the organisation at external dispute resolution institutions (e.g. CCMA).
    • Communicate, monitor, and evaluate strike contingency plans and implementation of picketing rules.
    • Conduct regular audits to enforce compliance with ER policies, codes, practices etc.
    • Evaluate the implementation of policies and procedures to minimise conflict and associated risk.
    • Report on ER matters.
    • Develop and implement efficiency measures to ensure optimum capacity utilisation and performance.

    KNOWLEDGE: 

    • Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EEA, BCEA, Occupational Health and Safety Act etc.
    • CCMA and Labour Court processes and procedures
    • Dispute resolution mechanisms and ER best practices.
    • PRASA ‘s SHEQ policy and processes.
    • HCM, SCM, project, change management procedures and practices.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    :

    • Bachelor’s degree in Employee Relations/Industrial Relations/ Labour Law/Human Resource Management /Human Resource Development (NQF 7)

    EXPERIENCE

    • 8 years employee relations experience of which minimum 3 years should be at a management level.
