Conduct legal research in legal information databases and other electronic sources to support legal advisory work.
Provide a legal advisory service across the Energy Directorate.
Draft and scrutinize legal documents for the Energy Directorate in collaboration with the Legal Services department.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of committee reports.
Resolve legal issues related to contracts and projects within the Energy Directorate.
Manage customer complaints and litigation matters within the Energy Directorate.
Assist in the development of legislation and policy within the Energy Directorate.
Help formulate appropriate comments on new legislation and policy for submission to the Strategic Policy Branch.
Key Performance Areas:
LLB degree required.
LLM or LLD in Public Law would be advantageous.
A minimum of 5 years' experience working in government, the NGO sector, academia on public law matters, or in the public law department of a legal firm, or as an advocate specializing in public law.
