B Tech or first Degree in Engineering, Science or other relevant field
Minimum 5 years’ experience in public transport strategic planning
Eligibility/Registration from an accredited professional body
Experience must include experience in performing public transport planning
Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills
A valid driver’s licence
Key Performance Areas
Developing the full phase Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN) plan and phasing plan.
Conduct research in the latest development in the integrated public transport planning discipline
Developing the IPTN phasing plan at metro wide, corridor and other levels
Formulating strategies and systems for input into the annual update of the integrated Transport Plan (ITP) and its 5-yearly review
Foster alignment between the IPTN plans and the national, provincial and City’s plan in order to promote integrated planning and implementation
Providing guidance on spatial development, growth strategies and major development and its impact on the IPTN system
Identifying emerging issues, developing and implementing new approaches and/or refining the project strategies to generate desired results as efficiently as possible
Drafting reports, presentations and correspondence containing complex information and responding to queries and requests
Facilitating technical dialogue with integrated transport planning and other strategic branches in the City
