Site Accountant (Mpumalanga) at Afrimat

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• BCom Accounting Degree/Equivalent
• Working towards CIMA qualification will be preferred
• A minimum of 5 years accounting experience with focus on cost accounting
• Experience working with Accpac (Desirable)
• Experience on procurement background will be advantageous
• Computer Literate - MS Office with advanced Excel experience MANDATORY
• Must be Fluent in English (Preferred)
• Clear criminal record
• Valid driver’s license and own transport (preferred)
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to plan, organize and control priorities with good administrative skills
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and costings
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
• Analyzing and interpretation of information
• High sense of personal responsibility
• Honest and trustworthy
• Ability to work independently without close supervision
• Candidates must be medically fit to perform duties (Determined by Occupational Medical Practitioner)

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

• Diesel reconciliations and monitoring usage
• Raw material and final product report analysis
• Perform reconciliations of production figures and analyze anomalies
• Assist with Production reporting and forecasting
• Assist with stock control
• Inventory reconciliation and variance report analysis
• Solve situational problems
• Compile relevant management reports
• Knowledge of BEE rating and Scorecard
• Continuously monitor and improve internal controls, systems, and procedures
• Maintaining fixed assets register
• Provide support to operational management team when and where required by creating operational reports
• Compile costing reports for production costs and monitor and analyse daily
• Interpretation of production costs and assist with cost saving initiatives
• Assist and support HOD’s with cost saving initiatives
• Perform specialized procurement functions as assigned
