    Skills Development Manager

    To manage Skills Development in PEP through driving, monitoring, influencing and improving on the Skills Development targets in line with PEP’s strategic objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide advisory service to the PEP on Skills Development Legislation and directives in South Africa 
    • Manage & lead a team
    • Provide advisory service on optimizing learnerships, internships and skills programs within PEP
    • Report on Skills Development initiatives at PEP
    • Act as a liaison between PEP and SETA
    • Stay abreast of SETA initiatives and communicate grants, benefits and changing regulations
    • Explore and maximise all SETA and other funding opportunities available for PEP
    • Identify scarce and critical skills  and to provide input and advice on sector scarce and critical skills for inclusion into a competency framework for PEP
    • Implement interventions that address company needs and contribute to the  B-BBEE score card

    Qualifications

    • Diploma / Degree in Human Resources, Skills Development & Training or relevant qualification;
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in skills development and 3 years' experience as a Skills Development Facilitator (SDF);
    • Accredited SDF certification and/or Assessor/ Moderator certification will be advantageous;
    • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future trends/consequences and create innovative strategies and flexible plans;
    • Sound understanding of corporate and commercial principles and processes;
    • Experience in e-learning principles will be advantageous;
    • Project management skills;
    • 1 - 2 years of people management experience;
    • Competencies required: Ability to multitask; work under pressure; relationship building; planning, organising and control; persuading and influencing abilities; and sound business acumen.
