    Station Supervisor: Stations Operations

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12/Matric (NQF level 4); 
    • 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience in a cash handling environment. 

    Primary Function:

    • Execute supervisor duties for the Rea Vaya services and effective and efficient functioning of the ticket booth. 

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Supervise the station pre-shift inspection; 
    • Undertake the Station’s daily operational planning process; 
    • Facilitate the Station’s day-to-day financial planning and budgeting processes; 
    • Lead and facilitate the station performance management planning process; 
    • Lead and facilitate the development of the Station’s Personal Development Plans (PDPs) process; 
    • Ensure effective and efficient Station processes and systems through escalations; 
    • Participate in the Recruitment, Selection, and Placement process for sourcing suitably qualified staff for the Station; 
    • Provide sound leadership for the achievement of the Station’s objectives; 
    • Supervise the implementation of Station Operations processes and procedures in line with the City’s policies; 
    • Ensure effective control of the Station’s human resources; 
    • Ensure effective Assets management and control for the Station; 
    • Implement good governance and effective risk management systems; 
    • Ensure effective execution of Stakeholder Relations and Communication processes in line with the applicable policies and standard operating procedures; 
    • Ensure effective supervision of specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the Station and individual performance. 

    Leading Competencies: 

    • Computer literacy (MS Office Packages, including Word and Excel); 
    • Familiar with Operation Systems (OS) – Windows; 
    • Good facilitation and influencing skills; 
    • Good listening and communication skills; 
    • Basic Customer Care skills; 
    • Basic problem-solving and critical thinking skills; 
    • Good supervisory skills; 
    • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy and excellent planning, organising, coordinating, and time management skills. 

    Core Competencies: 

    • Basic knowledge of the local government environment; 
    • Knowledge of applicable City processes, policies, and procedures governing the rendering of Rea Vaya services; 
    • Knowledge of an Automated Fare Collection (AFC) Point of Sale or similar; 
    • Knowledge of fundamental principles of Batho Pele and how they apply in the day-to-day Station operations; 
    • Knowledge of the Rea Vaya service offerings and related customers; 
    • An awareness of health and safety; 
    • Collaborative/Teamwork, Values and Integrity, Attention to detail, and quality-focused; 
    • Customer and Service Delivery Management (Batho Pele) Ethics, Professionalism; 
    • Impact and Influence according to the City’s protocols, legislation, and standards.
