Job Overview:

• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment and Machinery

Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
• Trade tested as a Millwright
• Relevant Tetrapak certifications specifically A3 compact Flex, Tetra packaging equipment and Processing Equipment VTIS, Aseptic packaging a prerequisite
• 5 to 8 years FMCG Maintenance experience with at least 3 years gained in a UHT environment
• Knowledge and experience of PLC and Automated control systems
• Knowledge and experience of industrial automation and control
• Demonstrated problem solving ability
• Must be prepared to work overtime (scheduled/unscheduled) outside normal hours – Saturday work is required on a rotational basis.
• Must be able work shifts
• Must be prepared to do standby

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Check and maintain UHT equipment according to HACCP and ISO standards
• Carry out all planned preventative maintenance inspections and tasks as per maintenance plan and job cards allocated
• Perform weekly routine checks and maintenance as per Tetra standards
• Assist Tetra with major services as and when required
• Ensure that all breakdown repair work is completed on equipment
• Conduct problem root cause and failure analysis where machinery failure and quality deviations are prolonged and repetitive breakdowns are experienced
• Ensure that deviations encountered are communicated to relevant parties
• Ensure that job cards are generated for planned maintenance and breakdowns
• Ensure ongoing review of job cards in order to identify problems and corrective actions
• Ensure minimum downtime on all equipment
• Maintain monthly and daily efficiency targets
• Communicate technical information to staff and internal customers
• Ensure that all documentation and reports are completed
• Propose and action improvements to processes and procedures
• Participate in and drive continuous improvement plans and actions
• Participate in and drive projects and maintenance initiatives
• Assist in other maintenance areas as and when required
