    Underwriting Administrator

    Role Objectives:

    • Process all underwriting transactions assigned, within the set standards required by the company thus contributing to the productivity of the underwriting department as set out within parameters delegated from time to time.
    • Enhance the image of the company through the continuous delivery of efficient and effective customer service.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Evaluating Information on insurance proposals/quotations or policies to Determine Compliance with Company Policy and Risk Attitude
    • Processing risk and insurance Information and Performing Administrative Activities
    • Analyzing Risk/Claims Data or Information
    • Making Underwriting Decisions and Solving Risk Exposure Problems
    • Communicating and maintaining business relationships with Persons Outside Organization
    • Issuing New Policy Documents
    • Perform policy and Portfolio Management/ Administration Duties
    • Facilitate and Manage Renewal Process
    • Resolve queries and complaints, Work in teams and Generate reports
    • Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge
    • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work
    • Resolving Conflicts and Negotiating with Others
    • Perform Policy Quality Assurance
    • Required Knowledge and Experience    
    • Underwriting Servicing and Sales experience
    • Underwriting knowledge (ability to interpret policy wording, understanding how claims information impacts on underwriting)
    • Broker Service and Relationship Management experience
    • Product knowledge of Construction and Engineering insurance
    • MS Excel and Power Point
    • Business writing skills, Risk Analysis
    • Telephonic communication skills, Listening & Negotiation skills
    • Time management and Process Management

    Educational Requirements    

    • Matric
    • Insurance qualification or equivalent advantageous

    Project Manager

    Job purpose:

    To ensure all required projects and strategic initiatives within scope are planned, resourced, scheduled and managed correctly to ensure that timelines are met within budget and that the projected benefits are achieved.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Understand the scope of what needs to be delivered and translate these into project plans and schedules
    • Plan and control project schedules (plans) with relevant stream leads / business analysts and delivery partners
    • Control project quality with relevant stream leads / business analysts and delivery partners
    • Allocate and Control stream leads / business analysts and their deliverables.  This includes the delivery partners
    • Control project scope with steering committee and stakeholders
    • Manage project risks / incidents with relevant stream leads / business analysts, steering committee and stakeholders
    • Manage change brought about by the project implementations with relevant stream leads / business analysts, stakeholders
    • Ensure that proper governance structures are in place and followed
    • Manage project communication and Reporting
    • Find ways to improve the delivery of projects and strategic initiatives

    Required Knowledge and Experience    
    Required experience in the following:

    • Project Management
    • Multi-functional stakeholder management and engagement experience
    • System Development life cycle
    • Life insurance industry
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in project management

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Negotiation skills
    • People skills
    • Business writing and presentation skills
    • Knowledge of project management methodologies
    • Knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies
    • Planning and Organizing skills

    Educational Requirements

    Solution Analyst

    Role Objectives

    • The Solution Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business and technology and/software solutions team. Contributing to the documentation of business & stakeholder requirements. The Solution Analyst is responsible for assessing impact, identifying solution requirements, and recommending the outcome

    Role Responsibilities

    • Interacting with all relevant stakeholders and conducting business process needs analysis to understand requirements with an objective of producing a concise business case. Not sure if business case sits with us
    • Analyze and understand business requirements to identify changes and additions required to meet the business requirements
    • Conduct impact analysis to identify and understand risk associated with an enhancement or project as well as input to risk mitigation strategies
    • Make recommendations based on the interpretation of business requirements, ensure that all impacts have been carefully considered, analyzed and the resulting procedure and system configuration is the most appropriate and best meets the business need.
    • Communicate needed changes to development & testing team and ensure implementation thereof.
    • Estimate the financial or other benefits of changes to processes, risks and/or potential impact and report to the relevant stakeholders if relevant
    • Operational Management-business process knowledge; operations planning and management; project management. I think this more on the experience element of the spec or is this a PM function

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • Minimum 6 years’ working experience in IT business analysis – (3 years of which should be in the Short-Term insurance environment)
    • Agile/Scrum knowledge
    • Working understanding of JIRA or similar case management system
    • 1-2 years Data/systems migration, development and integration

    Educational Requirements    

    • Matric
    • Business analysis certification
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or relevant Information Systems qualification
    • Agile certification
    • Technical qualifications
