    The Role Description

    As a manager in our Business Transformation team you will work across our Business Consulting teams to redesign businesses, design processes and solutions to transform how our clients manage water, energy and other precious resources on our planet.     Your Key Responsibilities

    • Assist leading organisations to prepare and respond to the transformation required in building a modernised grid infrastructure and enable digital utilities marketplace.

    Technical Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years management consulting experience
    • 5-10 years working experience
    • Bachelor degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Civil or Chemical preferred)
    • A post graduate degree will be considered beneficial but not a pre-requisite.
    • Relevant certification from recognised institutions in project or program management, such as PMP, PgMP, Agile and Prince II is beneficial but not a pre-requisite

    Within SaT, Minvest teams advise our clients and the broader EY on a variety of issues concerning mining investments, mineral resource estimations, technical reviews, mineral asset valuations, financing and strategic options within the minerals, and oil and gas industries. The Minvest team is a specialised team of experienced technical professionals including environmental scientists, petroleum engineers, geologists, mining engineers and chemical engineers.     Mobility Consultant

    The opportunity​​​​​​​

    The position will work with business leaders and assignees (at all levels) to plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end international mobility assignments into and out of the region. You will guide and provide relevant advice to your business stakeholders and assignees to ensure consistent exceptional assignee experiences with intentional outcomes, whilst meeting the needs of the business and building a better working world.


    Your key responsibilities

    • Act as the primary Mobility point of contact for one or more Service Lines in your Region and manage all phases of in-bound and out-bound assignments (pre assignment, on assignment, repatriation, extensions, and post assignment), including high complexity and VIP assignments
    • Act as a trusted advisor to your Stakeholder group within your Service Lines, applying an understanding of business needs to develop solutions
    • Work closely with Stakeholders to understand the business case of newly initiated assignments, and apply the global mobility policy framework to map and determine the appropriate assignment category and relocation package which aligns to the needs of the business as well as the assignee
    • Collaborate with operational stakeholders in the various Regional Core Business Service (CBS) functions such as Talent and Finance to ensure they are equipped to successfully support Mobility of our function
    • Partner with home/host Mobility Consultants in the development of the appropriate assignment package, and work closely with them to manage all phases of the assignments
    • Instruct the offshore support team, the Virtual Talent Hub (VTH), on all activities as per scope of service, and review and monitor output

    • Act as an ambassador and first point of contact for allocated Partners

    Africa Automation Leader

    The Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital team is looking to hire a skilled manager to lead our Automation pillar for our Assurance business.

    Automation Solutions address particular risk/pain point for the Assurance business using a range of smart technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), SharePoint, Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics.

    As the Africa Automation leader, you will look after all Global and EMEIA developed solutions and drive usage by our audit teams and provide support on these solutions. You will also be responsible for the design and development of Africa Assurance Automation and oversee a team of business analysts and full stack developers that will develop these automation solutions to solve a pain point experienced by our audit teams, and in certain cases the greater Assurance business.

    Other responsibilities include:

    Business Case Development

    • Provide input into the product vision and roadmap for Automation within assurance for Africa (13 countries included) by aligning to EY’S overall company strategy, commercial business unit requirements and key opportunities
    • Communicate vision and roadmap to stakeholders to ensure buy in, support and clarity on direction and execution
    • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to define requirements and establish priorities for the product team based on business objectives and strategy
    • Optimize and continuously improve the experience and the value derived from of the products, journeys and services delivered by the product team through ongoing analysis of customer feedback, user / journey analytics and innovation

    Product development oversight

    • Participate in the conceptual solution design process to make recommendations to create and enhance solutions that are innovative, scalable, and sustainable and solve complex business problems.
    • Participate in User Acceptance testing and guide users to ensure that the designed solution ultimately meets business requirements.
    • Participate in the success/acceptance criteria definition using scenario testing and test cases to ensure that testing covers all aspects of the business specification.
    • Validate the functionality of all technical solutions in line with business requirements on completion of development to ensure that business requirements are met in the implemented solutions.

    Quality Management

    • Ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed timelines and in accordance with agreed quality standards and comply with the EY Certification of solutions policy, data protection policy and Information security policies.
    • Consider and recommend enhancements for project performance and processes and initiate remedial action where defects are evident

    Stakeholder Management

    • Be an active member of the EMEIA automation sounding board, which is a network set up across the EMIEA region where you are required to represent Africa, contribute automation ideas that are scalable to be deployed to the rest of EMEIA and also provide insight on how the Africa market is operating and track against automation usage KPIS that are set.
    • Report to Assurance Leadership monthly on the automation team’s performance, status of projects, report on automation savings per sector and cluster as measurement occurs at an African level.
    • Engage with audit teams and gather and interpret any requirements that they may have based on a pain pointe experienced on their audits that can be automated.
    • Provide insights on any new automations that may launch via communication with teams directly or through the Innovation and Digital Newsletter
    • Drive usage by providing key insights at Quarterly sector partner and manager connect sessions and Digital account planning sessions
    • Act as a liaison between key stakeholders such as audit technical and the quality enablement team to ensure that automation solutions that are being developed makes business sense and will either save our teams time or assist with an AQR or IRBA finding.

    Budget Management

    • Prepare forecasts and budget for the Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital business unit in line with the overall division.
    • Manage and optimize the budget, ensuring all expenditure is in line with the agreed budgets for the Automation and Digital Solutions area.
    • Forecast what the automation savings will be for the Audit teams per solution, per country and sector and track monthly how automation targets are being met.

    Your primary focus will be to work with our leading clients and their executive teams to design, define and commercialise new businesses, services, experiences and establish large scale agile transformation programs that drive growth and deliver long term value. You will lead business development, driving discussions with clients and delivering market leading ideas and proposals to clients.

    You will design the approach to delivering the engagement, assembling teams to deliver each work stream. You will also manage the relationships with clients and guide the overall delivery of value to clients.

    You will manage multiple high performing teams and lead the development of careers of colleagues. You will work closely with the team of partners that lead the Business Transformation competency as well as the Western Cape Consulting leadership.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Building on the strategy of the client organisation, define the transformation vision, journey and delivery model for implementing transformation products, services, experiences and solutions.
    • Design, reinvent and innovate business models that will create long term value and disrupt markets.
    • Design, establish and operate innovation programs, including agile or lean approaches to developing new innovations in products, service, experiences or business models.
    • Facilitate design thinking workshops and sprints to define transformation solutions and potential roadmaps for implementation.
    • Crystallise and document the thinking of the wider EY and client teams so that ideas and approaches can be crisply and clearly communicated.
    • Lead and manage large scale cross-functional projects and strategic transformations. Define and implement teams that orchestrate the delivery of transformation initiatives at clients.
    • Orchestrate, coordinate and project manage the transformation acceleration process.
    • Enable the implementation of concepts, solutions and systems that have been defined through research, strategy, ideation and innovation.
    • Analyse data and provide recommendations to client executives on strategic initiatives and transformations.
    • Drive business development, build and grow the pipeline. Drive the pursuit process to develop the proposal, approach, planning and commercials whilst ensuring adherence to the quality and risk management processes to protect the reputation of our firm.
    • Build client relationships and establish the team as a trusted advisor in the market place.
    • Convene diverse teams so their time is used productively and creates high value outputs.
    • Collaborate across EY teams and solutions to increase value for our clients, contributing to building a better working world.
    • Coach and develop our junior team members and assist them in crafting a career journey to assist others in achieving their purpose and objectives.

    Technical Requirements

    • More than 10 years’ experience in strategy, innovation and/or transformation consulting.
    • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Commerce or Sciences from a reputable tertiary institution
    • Post graduate degree – either a Masters’ or Doctoral degree is preferred
    • Additional certifications to support the skillsets required
    • Experience in one or more of these sectors: Retail, Government & Public Sector and Financial Services
