    Dairy Advisor - Port Elizabeth

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis, a Top Employer in SA in the Dairy Advisor role. Management of farm supply through close farmer and Lactalis relations in adherence with supply policy and budgets and technical advice to secure a sustainable source of milk.

    Required Skills    

    • An appropriate 3 year tertiary qualification in Agriculture
    • 5-8 years in dairy farming or dairy advisory experience
    • Experience in performing three or more of the following areas:
    • animal health and welfare,
    • milking hygiene,
    • animal nutrition,
    • feed and fodder production,
    • farm economics &
    • environment (including energy and waste) and
    • socio-economic management
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Understanding of other business processes & concepts-laboratory, finance, etc.
    • Pasture management & fodder flow knowledge
    • Grass roots experience in dairy farming & dairy management
    • Principles of producing milk & milking parlour hygiene

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Manage Lactalis’s regional milk supply which encompasses:

    • Management of  farm supply in terms of technical advice to secure a sustainable source of milk (DA’s not required to solve problems, but to identify possible solutions with related experts and follow-up of progress):
    • Dairy nutrition and feeding management, fodder flow, pasture management, economic feasibility studies, herd health, environmental management
    • Working collaboratively to forecast Lactalis’s monthly milk supply in terms of milk solids to match requirements at the various factories
    • Pre-empt and management of possible deviations from milk supply parameters

    Junior Project Manager - Bonnievale

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Engineering department with the main responsible to manage multi projects and lead contractors and subcontractors teams. Manage Health & Safety and Environmental of the factory. Successful candidates need to have at least 3-5 years' relevant experience within engineering field and FMCG environment. Must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of planned and execution of projects, compiling and managed budget. Must fully adhere to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    Required Skills    

    • BTech/Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering (preferably in a mechanical field).
    • PMP Certification advantageous.
    • Min 3-5 years team and project management experience in the dairy/FMCG environment.
    • Sound experience in administration, planning and organising.
    • Sound leadership and project management skills.
    • Excellent computer literacy: MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, ERP system, AutoCAD

    • Conducting feasibility studies and optimizing resources.
    • Supporting the transfer of expertise to the Operational Team, by providing training concepts and interventions
    • Give technical input for Capex requirements and plant availability over a 3-year plan.
    • Align technical project planning with company strategy for optimal balance between timing, Capex, resources, and technical output.

    •  Management and housekeeping of vehicle and equipment
