    Shutterhand (North West)

    PURPOSE

    • This position exists to ensure safe and effective construction of several concrete structures in a construction environment

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Participate in risk assessments and ensure compliance with all safety requirements
    • Avoid incidents that can cause harm to self and others in a team
    • Complete pre-shift toolbox talks at the beginning of the shift and report all identified hazards and problems to the supervisor
    • Should be able to erect scaffolding and do regular inspections on it
    • Should be able to assemble shutters for various structures
    • Interpretation of concrete drawings
    • Certified and able to perform work at heights
    • Should be able to safely use power tools like circular saw, jig saw and grinders
    • Perform all other ad-hoc jobs for which training has been provided for as and when required
    • Follow written/verbal safe working procedures when executing specific tasks during emergencies as per training
    • Always wear the correct PPE for each specific task as required

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION

    • Grade 12
    • Shutter hand Grade I or II

    EXPERIENCE

    • 4 to 5 years’ experience in concrete structures
    • Knowledge in Steel fixing and understanding of Bending schedule will be advantageous

    Concrete Chargehand (North West)

    Description

    • This position manages the implementation and delivery of a section of a site against time, quality and cost standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership

    • Supervising and leading the team.
    • Maintaining work standards and outlining behavioural expectations to ensure team morale and productivity.
    • Ensuring team compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Planning and Scheduling

    • Translating general work requirements into a prioritised work plan for the team.
    • Periodically review daily goals to meet the forecasted production.
    • Work with the team to overcome work related challenges.

    Quality Control

    • Recognising, addressing and resolving issues/problems among or between employees in the team.
    • Promoting, supporting and facilitating teamwork and harmony between all team members by fostering a positive attitude among all team members.

    Administration

    • Recommending workforce actions such as recruitment, releasing, promotions and discipline.

    Safety

    • Ensuring that company vehicles and equipment checks are carried out.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A minimum of five years’ relevant experience in supervising construction teams.
    • Concrete working experience.

    Steel Fixer (North West)

    Description

    • This position exists to ensure construction and maintenance of drains.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Interpret blueprint and specifications to determine the required layout and dimensions of rebar.
    • Cut and shape steel using tools such as pliers, wire cutters, and rebar benders.
    • Place steel in the correct position and secure it using wire or plastic ties.
    • Weld or bolt rebar pieces together as required.
    • Assist shuttering carpenters with form work or pouring concrete depending on the site size and staffing.
    • Ensure that all rebar is installed to the required standards and specifications.
    • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure that the project is completed on time and to the required quality standards.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with health and safety regulations.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Knowledge of civil engineering construction process.
    • Proven experience as a steel fixer.
    • Knowledge of steel fixing and understanding of bending schedule will be advantageous.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Good understating of safety management (ISO45001, ISO14001).
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
    • Strong knowledge of rebar installation techniques and procedures.

    Site Clerk (Limpopo)

    Description

    • This position exists to run the administration office in the business unit on a specific site, by planning activities, organising resources, controlling risks and to ensure the successful and timeous execution of all administrative activities in respect of quality, quantity, efficiency as well as financial requirements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Site Administration Office

    • Provide end to end HR policy & procedure solutions to the division.
    • Ensure accurate completion and approval of all purchase requisitions with correct contract allocations.
    • Receive and verify goods and services against delivery notes and outstanding orders.
    • Manage site stock including diesel, PPE, stores, and maintain proper record keeping.

    Safety and Training Administration

    • Ensure that back up of the data base is available.
    • Preventing loss/damage of property in the office.

    Personal Administration

    • Liaising between the Site Administrator and the Site/Contract manager, as well as the wage office and/or the HR department.

    • Compiling, safe-keeping and the maintenance of personnel files for all wage employees on a specific site(s).
    • Handling of leave administration of wage employees and liaising with the Site Administrator.

    Wage

    • Controlling, compiling and the forwarding of the time book document, as required by wages on a monthly basis.
    • Registering and handling of all wage queries.
    • Handling of sign-on procedure for all new wage employees.
    • Handling of sign-off procedure for all wage employees leaving the company.

    Communication

    SHEQ Coordinator (Limpopo)

    PURPOSE

    • The aim is to oversee SHEQ Co-ordination within BU, compile combine, reports, and manage all safety aspects in order to deliver compliance towards internal and external environmental requirements. To create an environment where duties can be performed safely and risks are known and managed.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Policy, Targets, Objectives & Goals.
    • Ensure that the current policies are displayed at all areas of the operation.
    • Comply with the objectives, goals and targets set by the company.

    Legal Aspects/Requirements

    • Ensure company practices comply with legal and other requirements falling in the risk management domain.
    • Give on-going report on legislative and other amendments relevant to the risk domain and comply as required.
    • Ensure submissions of applicable statutory documents.

    Training

    • Assist in managing training interventions to equip all employees to have the necessary skills to be competent to perform their roles with the least amount of risk possible.

    Risk Assessment

    • Ensure that the necessary risk assessments and action plans are compiled, maintained and reviewed.

    Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Compile necessary planning documents to effectively execute job requirements posed by the risk management domain.
    • Regularly perform risk audits as per requirements.

    Reporting, Recording and/or Review

    • Submit monthly reports as required. Report all incidents to the responsible individuals as per company procedure.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION

    • National Diploma/ Degree in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management.
    • SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1 and 2, ISO  45001:2018 Implementation.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 3 years’ experience in a mining & construction safety environment as a safety Officer or similar.
    • Knowledge of the OHS act, Mine Health and Safety Act.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRE

    • Must be an expert in safety orientation.
    • Must have an advanced understanding of legislation & policy orientated. 
    • Must have a good understanding of managing relationships.
    • Must have an advanced understanding communicating effectively.
