    Guest Experience Operations Manager (Johannesburg Based)

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Guest Experience Manager (GEM) to continue to grow, define and shape the guests experience across all products, destinations, platforms and systems to ensure the highest service levels are implemented
    • Enhance and grow the current VIP personal GEL offering by sharing in-depth knowledge and additional experiences that add value to our guests, agents and suppliers
    • Feedback to reservations where services do not meet our minimum standards and ensure the reservations teams are kept informed of supplier trends and all elevated expectations are implemented at reservations level.
    • Pulling monthly arrival booking reports weekly, to share with the team and making sure all Guest Experience Liaisons monthly calendars are loaded and updated with new bookings.
    • Working closely and assisting the Emergency Afterhours and Wilderness 24 teams with help, support and guidance to guests, suppliers and all internal teams during travel.
    • Offer first line assistance to the team, develop and mentor staff’s talent to their full potential through performance development programs and be aware of capacity and general level of activity within the team as a whole.
    • Optimise and consolidate collaboration with various stakeholders within the business, linking with the entire booking channel from reservations to camp operations, from across all regions and departments to ensure the ultimate guest experience is tailor-made and functions like a well-oiled machine

    Candidate profile

    Qualification:                   

    • Matric with Maths 
    • Tertiary qualification in Travel & Tourism/Hospitality.

    Experience:                      

    • 8-10 years in the travel & Tourism industry in either a Sales or Direct client engagement position.   
    • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office, email, Internet) 
    • Proven English literacy.
    • Excellent product knowledge on Southern and East Africa. 
    • Personal or educational travel experience advantageous within Africa in the luxury travel circuits.  
    • Excellent attention to detail

    Travel Designer - Owned Agencies - Senior

    Requirements:

    • Generate and grow sales by securing, costing, and presenting journeys to Sales agents in a timely manner
    • Build strong connections with all supplier reservations teams, nurture these relationships in order to help get more benefits when engaging regularly with them.
    • Maximize the mutually beneficial relationship with AP partners, their lodges/camps, and areas they are located

    Travel Designer - Owned Agencies - Senior (Johannesburg Or Cape Town Based)

    Primary Purpose

    To generate and grow sales whilst maintaining required GP%, great agent relationships and high-level customer service by offering world-class itineraries to exceed agent & guests' expectations.

    To secure, cost and present product to the agent/guest accurately, efficiently, timeously by creating inspirational luxury travel. Have an excellent knowledge and good geographical understanding of all Southern and East African destinations as well as day-to-day regional logistics.

    Responsibilities:

    • Continuous communication and excellent service delivery to agents at all times.
    • Build relationships with owned agents based on trust and support, knowing their business trends and guests needs, ad hoc attending relevant familiarisation trips with agents (if and when required).
    • Keep updated with all Wilderness Safaris (WS) and 3rd party product (AP), as well as technology updates.
    • Attend all WS and AP training on a weekly basis; this knowledge facilitates exceeding expectations and accuracy in the booking process.
    • Quote accurately and timeously keeping in mind our strategic and preferred AP and upsell where possible to benefit both WS and the agent.
    • Measure sales and GP% in conjunction with Sales, identifying variations and maintaining good GP’s per booking.
    • Process any additional changes/updates after confirmation to the itinerary.
    • All required travel information to be obtained from the Agent and sent to the Operations Specialist e.g. bed configuration, dietaries, ages of children, group dynamics and any other additional information from the agent

    Responsibilities

    • Liaise with the Reservations Manager on booking issues, managing all the changes and adding any developments from the ops specialist to the booking to ensure that the client’s trip is booked and planned perfectly.
    • Build relationships with Ops specialist based on trust and support, knowing their business trends and guests needs, ad hoc attending relevant familarisation trips
    • Manage the new confirmations handed over by the Travel Designer with speed, convert provisional on the WW into confirmed status based on all added information from Ops specialists whilst maintaining the booking integrity on itrvl.
    • Keep updated with all Wilderness Safaris (WS) and 3rd party product (AP), as well as technology updates
    • Process any additional changes/updates after confirmation to the itinerary.
    • Maintain booking file (electronically) incl. Agent correspondence, AP correspondence, costings, invoices & credit notes and updated booking file cover/summary and ensure all documents are in order

    Candidate profile

    Qualification:              

    • Matric certificate – with maths (minimum standard grade or above)
    • Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism/hospitality is advantageous.

    Experience:                

    • 4-5 years’ with Senior experience in handling customer relationships and developing & promoting product and building journeys in the inbound travel industry.

    • Feedback to all properties where guests are due to travel to mitigate complaints down the line
