    Communications Specialist - Northern Suburbs (Cape)

    Role purpose

    • Responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote the organization's brand, products, services, or key messages. The primary goal is to ensure consistent and clear communication both internally within the organization and externally to various stakeholders, including clients, partners, media, and the public. The role of a Communications Specialist is crucial in shaping the organization's reputation, enhancing its visibility, and maintaining positive relationships with the target audience.

    Job Description:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the company's objectives and values.
    • Craft compelling narratives and engaging content for various channels, including press releases, social media, website, and internal communications.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels:

    Operations Manager: Change - Northern Suburbs (Cape)

    Role purpose

    • Responsible for overseeing and leading the Junior/Intermediate Change Analysts of the Change team by integrating change management activities with other project processes. 
    • Provide assistance and support with the team’s planning on various change requests/projects and provide direction where needed.

    Specific Duties include but are not limited to: 

    • To implement and measure the change metrics by monitoring the change dashboard and producing monthly stats/KPI’s (FreshWorks Project).
    • To monitor and evaluate the team’s progress and provide guidance and support to the team where they identify issues or problems.
    • To facilitate and support the team with difficult situations/conversations, with internal teams and managers, external asset managers, clients, vendors, counterparties, CSDP’s, JSE and Strate when needed.
    • Responsible for maintaining policies, procedures and risks associated with change. 
    • Review CURO team and Client strategies at the beginning of each year, to ensure alignment.
    • Review and provide input on Client SLA’s frequently.  
    • Ensure Client costing on development aligns with CURO principals and standard rate card.  
    • Responsible for setting annual team and individual objectives and annual salary review process.
    • Facilitate weekly team meetings to provide organisational updates and encourage team engagement.
    • Facilitating weekly individual meetings to check in (personal) and track performance and identify development areas.
    • Attend Due Diligence and General Client meetings when required
    • Effectively manage the team leave planner and ensure staff cover to deliver on objectives.
    • Provide regular feedback to the Senior Manager on the team’s current focus, progression on deadlines and individual development and highlight any challenges and risk areas.
    • Ad hoc duties: provide ongoing support to the team related to client engagement.
    • Work with Human Resources to recruit and place required staff. 
    • Participate in monthly Induction to provide team overview to new employees.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities

    Requirements

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting preferred)
    • Diploma or course in SA Financial Market Instruments will be an advantage
    • 5 - 7 years’ experience in the financial services industry, with at least 3-5 years at a management level.
    • Understanding of risk and techniques to manage risk within teams
    • Understanding of processes and controls and the knowledge of how to improve these.
    • Understanding of end-to-end processes across the business.
    • Individual who can use initiative and take ownership of issues/problems.
    • Highly developed analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Clear communicator (verbal & written).
    • Proven ability to be a team player as well as an individual contributor.

    Senior Fund Administrator: Unit Trading - Northern Suburbs (Cape)

    Role purpose

    • The Senior Fund Administrator will be responsible for the execution of trade processes and controls on Local or International Unit Trades. This includes processing of trades within the agreed deadlines, by ensuring data is accurate, timely and delivered in accordance with SLA requirements. Liaison with Internal teams, External Asset Managers, Clients and/or Counterparties to carry out these functions.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Processing of all transactions across all Unit Trade admin, Local and International trade support
    • Accurate and timely updating of daily Unit trades on Hiportfolio, as well as monthly re-investment of income in compliance with client and market requirements, policies and procedures
    • Action accurate and timely settlement instructions to Custodians, manually, as well as per online banking systems or instructing EFT team to action▪ Resolve any errors, queries and reconciliation discrepancies relating to Unit trades in a timely manner
    • Monitor and action daily e-mail instructions received from Clients
    • Update of Off market Unit Trade Interface sub system with required static data and completion of linking process with MANCO’s for new investment trades
    • Perform key checks and end-of-day controls daily, including daily sign off of checklists
    • Perform back-up functions for staff when needed
    • Ensuring compliance with procedures, SLA’s and internal controls
    • Assist in driving operational efficiencies by highlighting areas of improvement Third-party fund administration requires expertise.
    • Escalate all issues, problems and concerns to manager timeously
    • Perform ad hoc duties as requested by Manager

    Education and Experience

    • Thorough understanding and knowledge of the characteristics of all relevant financial instruments and market deadlines.
    • Willingness to work overtime or a later shift if needed.
    • Individual who can use initiative and take ownership of issues/problems.
    • Highly developed analytical, technical and problem solving skills. 
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

    Senior Fund Administrator - Equities and Derivatives - Western Cape

    Role purpose

    • The trade support specialist performs all tasks related to trade support, i.e. trade matching, checking & sign-off, settlement instruction, client queries, broker queries, preventing failed trades etc. He/she is also responsible for performing all relevant controls to ensure that trades are processed, instructed and settled in good time. At times this person could be under severe pressure to meet deadlines.

    Senior Fund Accountant: Fund Accounting - Northern Suburbs (Cape)

    Role purpose

    • The position requires the individual to have knowledge of related Fund Accounting systems and processes, for Unit Trust funds and Pooled clients. Manage the team by motivating and encouraging them in order to achieve high standards. Assist team members and manager/specialist with trouble shooting and resolution of issues that arise in the Fund Accounting team, to include process and system enhancements. There should be a drive to achieve results in a friendly manner, but at the same time maintain quality and standards.

    Specific duties/Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

    • Complete Fund Accounting tasks accurately and by the SLA deadline, tasks include but not limited to: IL/GL FURST reconciliations, GL postings, trial balance and account checks, and monthly/quarterly/annual client reporting.
    • Escalation, documentation and resolution of IL/GL variances.
    • Analytical review of all daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc work done by team
    • Proactive in suggesting, testing and implementing process and system enhancements to reduce risk and increase efficiencies in the team, as well as ensuring that the client changes are met in accordance to the SLA
    • Maintain risk awareness in team
    • Ensure compliance with company policy/procedures and client service level agreements
    • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and auditors
    • Continuously evaluating processes, risks and controls in the Fund Accounting area and implementing improvements were necessary
    • Working closely alongside Project and Change teams to participate in business efficiency and new system implementation projects, as required
    • Ensure correct accounting for Income Distributions.
    • Close communication with NAV and other departments within Operations.
    • Assistance with the yearly audit process of clients by dealing with audit queries.

    Skills Required:

    • Knowledge of asset management environment, including but not limited to financial markets and instruments
    • Working knowledge of Hiportfolio, including the General Ledger

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • Tertiary Financial Qualification with a business or accounting background
    • A minimum of 2 year’s related experience
    • Proficient in MS office
    • Good knowledge and understanding of the Financial Markets and Financial instruments

    Custodian Services Assistant - Northern Suburbs (Cape)

    Role purpose:

    • The successful candidate will also be required to manage the daily tasks and deliverables of the team. The incumbent must be a subject matter expert who will act as the first point of escalation for query resolution. He/she must be cautious decision maker due to the need for perfection and getting things done and done right.

    Specific duties

    • KYC and Recertification process for Curo
    • Facilitate Meetings for new accounts and Custodians
    • Mandate letter to authorise that Curo can instruct on new accounts.
    • Maintain CSDP issues log for all Custodians for Global annual Surveys and Meetings
    • Set up and facilitate meetings/ training with Custodians
    • Set up and facilitate meetings between Curo and the Custodian when queries are escalated
    • Complete the Global Custody survey on behalf of Curo and their clients
    • Attend Ad hoc due diligence visits with the clients if requested
    • Support projects/Change Team with any CSDP requirements
    • Log changes for any Custodian Changes/ Manage custodian changes
    • Facilitate any training sessions between Curo and the Custodians when required
    • Provide the Curo Authorised signatory List annually for all teams
    • Provide Addendums on behalf of Curo if there are changes to the structure in the business.
    • Update and Obtain CSDP contact list for OPS
    •  Communicate relevant Custodian information to the business.
