    Continuous Improvement Lead: Forestry & Milling

    Job Description

    • Continuous Improvement Lead: Forestry & Milling

    • Position Purpose: To lead the continuous improvement (CI) program within Forestry & Milling in order to drive process improvements and operational excellence

    Responsibilities

    • Implement Operational Excellence (OpEx) across the Forestry & Milling (F&M) value chain to improve efficiencies and product yields thereby lowering production costs while improving product quality to deliver higher value products to CHEP
    • Drive implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques (Kaizen, Daily management system (DMS), Root cause problem solving (RCPS), Standard work, Process confirmations, etc.) across the Forestry & Milling (F&M) value chain
    • Train and coach Operations teams to use basic lean tools to eliminate waste
    • Champion the implementation of 5S across F&M
    • Design layout of facilities and determine optimal resourcing requirements
    • Coordinate process capability, work study and six sigma analysis
    • Conduct cost and value driver analysis to identify efficiency improvement opportunities
    • Assist in the collection of data identifying opportunities and for tracking improvements
    • Partner with the Finance and Transformation teams to calculate cost reductions & document savings into the Wave tracking system
    • Accountable for tracking all F&M CI Projects and reporting progress to Operations team
    • Proactively identify and promote sharing of learnings and best practices across F&M
    • Regular auditing to make sure that all departments adhere to the Brambles Global OpEx program
    • Support the Maintenance Manager with improving the Reliability Engineering and Physical Asset Management program
    • Support business case development for new equipment / equipment upgrades aimed at improving efficiencies and/or lowering costs and/or reducing operational risks
    • Develop, measure and report on new Plant and Equipment investment performance
    • Review payment calculation sheets for silvicultural activities to ensure alignment with productivity standards and benchmark costs
    • Support implementation of Sawmill Performance Incentive Program: Visual aids 
    • Develop/enhance reports to measure operational performance and improve decision making
    • Other direction as assigned by Supply Chain Senior Management team

    Qualifications

    • Minimum: Bachelor’s Industrial Engineering or Bachelor’s Business Management
    • Advantageous: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt experience

    Experience

    • Previous experience as Continuous Improvement Lead working with cross functional team     to deliver change
    • Over 5 plus years of direct management experience in a supply chain discipline e.g., logistics, operations, planning, manufacturing
    • Experience of using 5S/Lean/Six Sigma processes to deliver solutions.
    • Implementation of projects in a manufacturing environment
    • Delivering training across the workforce
    • Working with remote teams
    • Well-developed quantitative and qualitative analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Database and Data Analysis capabilities desirable

    Skills and knowledge

    • Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints)
    • Knowledge of Forestry and Milling operations (desired)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and cross-functional collaboration for all levels in the organization (Director to Plant level)
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements
    • Proven project management skills with demonstrated ability to drive projects that require cross-functional resources
    • Must be highly organized with excellent time management and prioritization skills
    • Experience in completing analyses utilizing Six Sigma, Statistical, and Lean tools and techniques
    • Use of data to make informed decisions and changes
    • Self-starter able to work independently with minimum supervision
    • Ability to quickly develop and execute a plan amongst ever changing priorities
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications – Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Word, Visio, Minitab

    BI Systems Analyst

    Job Description

    Position Purpose :

    • Responsible for the delivery and support of the portfolio of IT solutions and services to meet the Brambles global functional BI needs.  Specifically, this role requires combining his/her background and experience in the delivery of BI initiatives, knowledge of BI industry trends, and people leadership skills to deliver innovative solutions on legacy and future application platforms.

    Scope :

    • Number of Countries: Global
    • Number of Locations: All Brambles Locations.

    Major/Key Accountabilities :

    • Responsible for functional analysis and documentation of application enhancements including functional design documentation, gap analysis, and use cases.
    • Document application enhancements and detail specifications aligned with business requirements and in accordance with standard application, governance, and quality assurance best practices.
    • Application configuration as assisting developers with object development, unit testing
    • Develop functional integration test cases and support user acceptance testing, integration and regressing testing, and change management activities
    • Provide technical support for internal and external customers including troubleshooting, identifying system and process improvements, and introducing new technology as appropriate.
    • Analysis and diagnosing data quality or system deficiency issues while providing options for resolution.
    • Support system extracts, application & user administration, and ongoing business request pipeline.
    • Oversee application security initiatives/audits to ensure best practice security principles

    Qualifications :

    • BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, and/or relevant work experience (foreign degree equivalent accepted).

    Experience :

    • 3+ years of IT experience including progressive experience with design & configuration of SAP Business Warehouse (BW), SAP BW on HANA, and SAP Business Objects.
    • 4+ years of proven experience in providing production support and direct contact with users to solve issues with business applications

    Skills and Knowledge :

    • Extensive experience implementing BI applications and proven experience with the following SAP BI functions:
    • SAP BW and HANA data structures, system configuration, & maintenance
    • Application Layer Security Maintenance (User Profiles, Roles, Security & Access Settings)
    • Implementation of custom queries, formulas, parameters, workflow, and dimensions
    • Data Quality including data import/export & duplicate record evaluation
    • Extensive experience with BW front end applications including SAP Query Designer and Business Objects Analysis for Office
    • Peripheral application integration.  Examples include SAP ERP, Oracle Hyperion/EBPCS, Salesforce, etc.
    • Prior implementation of Business Intelligence projects and/or application upgrades including SAP Business Objects solution to support business processes (Design Studio, Lumira, Web Intelligence)
    • Rationalization of bespoke functionality
    • Extensive knowledge and demonstrative implementation of Business Intelligence industry standards, technology trends, and best practices.
    • Demonstrated experience in functional analysis and documentation of application enhancements including Functional Design Documentation and detailed specifications, Gap Analysis, Use Cases, and Training documentation in accordance with standard BI, global governance, and quality assurance best practices
    • Proven background in building relationships among peers and business counterparts to support troubleshooting, identifying system and process improvements.
    • Process mapping expertise for ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ process designs.
    • Strong knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and proficiency in multiple delivery methodologies (e.g. agile, waterfall)
    • Significant experience negotiating requirements, estimating scope, and management of project schedules for his/her own deliverables
    • Extensive knowledge of standard BI business process including but not limited to Dashboarding, Report Bursting/Distribution, Information Broadcasting, Query/Workbook Development
    • Prior experience integration of visualization technologies including MS Power BI, QlikView, Tableau, etc.

    Reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for providing finance support to the Strategic Finance (IMETA) and Supply Chain Finance (IMET) teams, including providing analysis and insight on key areas of the business to drive growth, increase profitability and efficiency, as well as broader financial support.

    Ideal Candidate Requirements:

    • Completed Honours, preferably CIMA / CA(SA)
    • 3 to 5 years' experience in a senior-level Finance / Management Accounting role at a large corporate, preferably with exposure to Supply Chain business partnering
    • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, analytical abilities and a growth mindset

    Financial Accounting and Reporting:

    • Develop an oversight over the month end Financial closing process with controllership team in South Africa & India.
    • Drive improvements in accuracy, timeliness and controls in Financial reporting process.
    • Liaise with internal & external auditors wherever required.
    • Work closely with business team and provide analytical commentary for month end reporting packs.

    Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Get engaged in budgeting and forecasting process of India business, comparing / monitoring of performance against agreed KPI’s and providing timely status reporting with analysis to all areas of the business.
    • Actively participate in strategic financial planning activities like 3YP.

    Compliance, Risk Management and Systems:

    • Develop working understanding of compliance to statutory and legal requirements related to CHEP India from Direct and indirect tax perspective.
    • Supporting Finance Manager with Risk Management related activities.
    • Ensure strict adherence to authority matrix for business decisions.
    • Understand customer contracts and maintain oversight of customer contracts.

    Commercial & Business Finance :

    • Build insights over key cost KPI’s of the business, preparing for various business cases reflecting realities and performing sensitivity analysis to help management to drive sound commercial decision.
    • Business partner with supply chain by advising on Supply Chain efficiencies, working on operational improvement projects and providing detailed monthly KPI based performance reports for operations and logistics. Finance support to ITP process.
    • Business partner with sales by evaluating new business proposals, monitoring customer’s profitability and supporting in pricing of new and existing customers.
    • Develop strong understanding of customer & supplier contracts and assist business for its smooth execution.
    • Performs the analytics on post investment reviews and monitoring investments
