The Big Picture:

• Howden Power, a Division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for Site Supervisor x5 to supervise GO shutdowns project on all our Eskom sites.

What needs to be done?

• Participate in pre-project discussions before SOW is defined and resources are allocated to ensure preparedness. Participate in first-line inspections to determine final SOW
• Plan and interpret project requirements after receipt of production order (data package) in order to achieve objectives effectively.
• Compile spares list needed for assignment to ensure SOW can be fulfilled. Stock control of tools and working equipment to ensure availability and in working condition.
• Ensure all safety regulations and site safety file requirements are applied on the job to ensure the wellbeing of Howden workers.
• Ensure all quality systems, procedures and documentation are in place, up to date and adhered to on the job to ensure quality of workmanship
• Plan and organise daily activities per bar chart to ensure the progress in SOW is monitored and controlled.
• Deputise (when necessary) for the Site Manager at Customer meetings to report on progress.
• Expedite receipt of spares and equipment delivered to site to control Howden inventory
• Check and endorse timesheets as per attendance register to enable the Client to sign-off
• Shift handover compliance of Sups, QC’s, SO and SM to ensure continuity on all fronts.
• Perform welding or mechanical Supervision duties on site
• Develop QCP from repair procedure and make up data books
• Verify and uphold welding qualifications
• Coordinate welding or mechanical activity’s to and from site
• Audit and scan data books return from site safe to server

What do you need to bring?

• Matric/Grade 12
• N3 qualification or higher.
• Trade tested and qualified Fitter or Boilermaker or Welder.
• Level 1 welding fabrication inspector certificate
• Extensive experience in fitting, boilermaking, rigging, slinging and welding.
• Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and MS Project.
• 3 years in a maintenance supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of NEC 3 contract
• Quality and Safety Training (Formal Training).
• Valid Driver’s licence.

• Howden Power, a Division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced Service Manager, to assume overall responsibility for project execution requirements, including technical excellence, quality of products and service, efficiency and timeous delivery of maintenance and construction projects at various Customer sites serviced by the Howden Middelburg office.

What needs to be done?

• Management of Department HR Matters, including Temporary personnel (Recruitment, Performance Management, Disciplinary process, grievances, recruitment, motivation of staff)
• Responsible for HSE for Middelburg and Sites-service department including compliance and requirements.
• Management of resource allocations to ensure correct appropriate and adequate skill and Jobs are completed within time and allocated budget.
• Managing of training department to ensure adequate and appropriate trained employees to execute projects.
• Responsible for Quality of work according to internal and customer standards and acceptance criteria
• Accountable for Middelburg Service department budget
• Manage Middelburg office within Budget and create an environment for employee growth and development.
• Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to Company SOX controls.

What do you need to bring?

• N Dip or B Eng in mechanical engineering
• 10 years management experience on site or maintenance
• MS Office / Excel / MS projects
• Knowledge of NEC contracts
• Project management course with experience of running technical projects
• Negotiation and Influencing skills
• Good leadership & interpersonal skills
