    Job & Company Description:
    This international business is looking for a Financial Director who enjoys a mix of operations and reporting. The Financial Director will be 2IC to the Chief Executive Officer in Cape Town and report to the Group Chief Financial Officer based in the UK.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Be responsible and accountable for all aspects of financial management and accounting 
    • This position is a commercially driven role and the incumbent will be required to work closely with the Executives and Management teams to drive and deliver on the division’s financial strategy and will be required to support key business initiatives through the relevant planning, business development and reporting requirements
    • Oversee the financial, administrative, regulatory, record-keeping and risk management responsibilities; and work alongside other members of the executive management team to determine an overall direction for the business
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial results, budgets, forecasts and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and the Group’s accounting policies
    • This position requires an in-depth understanding of the company’s budget and expenses, as well as any monitoring and investigations of discrepancies if required
    • Manage the flow of money between the various business partners making sure the company can meet all financial and regulatory obligations, both internal and external
    • Review of detailed financial reports and making recommendations based on such reviews
    • Ensure that the company has adequate risk mitigation in place to monitor claims and fraud
    • Manage the relationship and year-end reporting timetable with the external auditors
    • Drive the appropriate governance and compliance to all relevant financial policies and controls across the business, and must have a sound understanding of IFRS
