    Assistant Company Secretary and Statutory Liaison – Sandton

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The Assistant Company Secretary and Statutory Liaison will assist in the facilitation and administration of Company Secretary duties as outlined in the Companies Act and guided by PFMA regulations.
    • Provide for the proper recording of minutes in relation to all Executive Committee and Board meetings.
    • Assist in recommendation of Directors to the board.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Relevant Diploma / Degree in Law.
    • Completed or studying towards Chartered Governance Institute of South Africa (CGISA) qualification.

    Minimum Experience:

    • 3-4 years in a Secretariat Environment.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     Meeting management

    • Provide for the proper recording of minutes in relation to all Executive Committee and Board meetings.
    • Ensure the correct registration of Directors.
    • Assist in recommendation of Directors to the board.
    • Ensure meetings have quorum and reschedule if required.

    Compliance with regulations

    • Adherence to National Treasury compliance dates.
    • Requesting information for report to the relevant regulatory bodies.

    Query referrals

    • Attending to queries in relation to Board and Compliance issues.
    • Processing queries.
    • Delivering queries to the appropriate person to resolve.

    Ad hoc duties

    • Perform any reasonable task as and when required by the Line Manager.

    Senior Tax and Reporting Accountant - Sandton

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Senior Tax and Reporting Accountant will support the financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data.
    • Development and implementation of systems, policy, procedures, Processes and internal controls.
    • Implementation of IFRS standards and provide IFRS advice to the organization.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum qualifications:

    • B Com Honours (Accounting)
    • HDip Tax or equivalent Tax qualification

    Ideal:

    • Completion of articles is a bonus

    Minumum Experience:

    • Plus 3 years’ experience as finance accountant

    Duties and Responsibilities    
     Reporting

    • Preparation of the annual financial statements accordance to IFRS to IFRS.
    • Assistance with the preparation of the integrated report.
    • Completion of statutory and stakeholder reports and returns.
    • Preparing internal reports.

    Taxation

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation.
    • Maintain and update tax computation systems for tax compliance according to latest prevailing tax legislation.
    • Computation of accurate income and deferred tax to process relevant journals.
    • Completion and submission of the income and provisional tax returns.
    • Preparation/Review of VAT reconciliations and completion and submission of VAT returns.
    • Preparation of tax disclosures in the AFS.
    • Keep abreast of all tax regulations
    • Prepare internal opinion papers in various tax related matters.
    • Ensure that all queries raised by SARS are dealt with timeously.

     Finance and audits

    • Development and implementation of systems, policy, procedures, Processes and internal controls.
    • Implementation of IFRS standards and provide IFRS advice to the organization.
    • Participate as needed in company-wide initiatives by contributing expertise and knowledge within own area of responsibly.
    • Going concern assessment and dividend calculations.
    • Assist with finance audits.
    • Review/preparation of journals and general ledger accounts reconciliations.
    • Review and analyse monthly the general ledger accounts (for any misallocations and prepare correction journals).
    • Assist with budget and forecast preparation.
    • Providing support to day-to-day finance activities.
    • Adhoc requests.

    Receptionist/Switchboard Operator - Sandton

    Job Advert Summary    

    The purpose of the position is to render effective and professional administrative services to the Sasria and its stakeholders.

    Handle all queries efficiently and in the most appropriate and professional manner possible.

    Answer calls on switchboard efficiently and promptly while maintaining a professional demeanour.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum qualifications:

    • Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent).
    • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

    Minimum Experience:

    • At least 3 or 5 years as a receptionist/switchboard operator, or 5 years in facilities or Office Administration/Co-ordinator/Assistant environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Switchboard Management/ Reception

    1. Attitudinal disposition when answering the calls per Sasria approved standard.
    2. Answer calls on switchboard efficiently and promptly while maintaining a professional demeanour.
    3. Level of compliance with appropriate standards2 for collecting and communicating (forwarding) messages.
    4. Re-route calls to various departments/staff.
    5. Handle all queries efficiently and in the most appropriate and professional manner possible.
    6. Keeping record of non-Sasria related calls.
    7. Arrange relief person when other receptionist is out of the office (for lunch breaks, when attending meetings).
    8. Welcome visitors.

     General Office Administration

    • Ensure re-routing of hand delivered mail, parcels and mail collected from the post office to various departments and Managers.
    • Control of the Post Register.
    • Request for Quotations in respect of stationery, groceries as per procurement policy.
    • Capture PR on system in respect of stationery and groceries as per the procurement policy.
    • Update internal extension telephone list and forward to relevant staff and copy to security at reception.
    • Health and Safety representative (various duties, booking training, scheduling meetings, etc).

    Ad hoc Duties

    • Perform any reasonable task as and when required by the Facilities Team Leader.
