Design Researcher at Strider Technology

Introduction:
The ideal candidate would display extensive ethnographic research capabilities. The compilation of your work should show you as a true anthropological practitioner, completely immersing yourself in the lives of your research participants. We also expect the ideal candidate to show very strong environmental analysis in his or her work, the key is to showcase exceptional research methods or approaches on design challenges in your portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriate research methods or approaches based on the underlying design challenge
• Conduct primary and secondary design research with Customer Experience Designer, User Experience Designer, User Interface Designer and Design Lead
• Prepare research data for Customer Experience Designer to synthesise
• Potentially assist with design synthesis
• Discover, interpret and communicate findings, insights and opportunities with Customer Experience Designer, User Experience Designer, User Interface Designer and Design Lead

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric plus academic or professional Design, Social Science or Behavioural Science qualification
• 4 to 6 years Research experience with specific focus on Design Research
• Portfolio should include screenshots of design work in relation to the research conducted
• Must have a solid understanding of design in terms of user and/or customer research
• Must have solid understanding of agile methodology
• Ethnographic research is paramount
• Environmental analysis
• Integrating various methods to form a coherent view of overall research efforts
• Knowledge of determining the appropriate methods of research
• Ability to facilite and observe research
• Ability to summarise and communicate findings
• Capable of being divergent and convergent in thinking about the approach
