    Group Product Manager: Cloud & Security

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Responsible for Product strategy and support to Vodacom Group EBU and the 8 African operating companies by providing domain speciality for Cloud, Hosting and Cyber Security solutions.
    • To define product strategy to support the uplift of ‘Cloud’ (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) and ‘Cyber Security’ services, inclusive of capabilities, technology, customer journeys and operational models. Possess both commercial acumen to set strategy and business objectives, as well as technical competence to develop and build platforms and journeys. 
    • Drive standardization across markets to foster re-usability and speed of deployment, ensuring cost optimisation across the group to ensure the most efficient product strategy and operating models.
    • To lead and develop his/her respective relationships with the Vodacom OpCo’s showcasing the Vodacom Spirit behaviours. Using influence and negotiating skills, drive the OpCo product roadmaps steering and managing the various product teams to support our group strategy. Help markets navigate new global ICT trends through the maturity curve of Cloud, Hosting and Cyber Security services.
    • Own and manage a matrix of commercial and technical relationships between Vodacom Group (Commercial, IT, Risk, Legal, Marketing, etc…), Vodafone (VF Group Product Taxonomy), Delivery Vendors, OpCo’s (8 Markets), Technology Partners and more.
    • The suitable candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills to successfully guide and manage different stakeholders both in market and centrally from product, commercial, marketing and technology, to support executive and senior management strategic objectives.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Working with the different OpCo Exco’s, to develop and agree overall enterprise product strategy.
    • Group Product SPOC for all markets for Cloud, Hosting and Cyber Security. Interface between OPCO’s, Group and vendors. 
    • Improve experience and reduce costs through the deployment & enhancement group platforms and SCM initiatives.
    • Collaborate with marketing & research teams to gather market insights & product strategy.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Minimum Bachelors Degree in IT/IS or Commercial.

    Preferential qualification / skill:

    • Project Management
    • Marketing Management

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • Extensive Product Management experience in an ICT/ Telco / ISP  (5 -8 years)
    • Experience across different ICT services including cloud, hosting, productivity software, collaboration, cyber security & digital platforms.
    • Experience working with multiple vendors.

    Principal Specialist Pricing Manager

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    As the Pricing Manager at Vodacom South Africa, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mobile pricing strategy, revenue optimization, and profitability for the organization's products and services. Your role will involve developing and implementing pricing models, conducting market analysis, and collaborating with various teams to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. 

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Margin creation: The encumbered will be responsible for predictive impact assessments of mobile pricing decisions across the entire base, regular monitoring of these impacts as well as effective business partnering across VSA (CBU, VB, VFS) to ensure that key interventions are actioned to protect margin, mitigate revenue leakage and drive efficiencies.
    • Pricing Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive pricing strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Analyze market dynamics, competitor pricing, and customer insights to determine optimal pricing models. Define pricing frameworks and strategies per segment, based on supply & demand, costing, regulatory, competition factors, etc. 
    • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify customer segments, pricing trends, and competitive landscape.
    • Pricing Analytics: Leverage data analytics and tools to monitor pricing performance, identify revenue opportunities, and track pricing effectiveness. Develop pricing metrics and KPIs to measure pricing performance. Provide valuable pricing insights and analysis for all segments, down to costs and commission payments impact including key customer insights, and modelling purchasing behaviour and elasticity for overall impact analysis.
    • Reporting & Insights:  Forecasting and prediction models relevant to IBRO volumes, rates, ARPU(A), A&R, and mix within each product line, essential to management decision making. Provide governance and approval process, assessing impact for all free and promotional activities, maintaining a consistent dashboard on impact of such initiatives on all elements of the closing base, using IBRO (Inflow/Base/Retention/Outflow) categories.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • At least 5 years financial and pricing management experience with Relevant BSc. or BCom. Mathematics, Actuarial, Statistics, Econometrics or relevant financial degree
    • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Advanced SQL skills is an required
    • ICT industry experience an advantage
    • Excellent understanding of the Telecoms industry and key value drivers within the industry and market. Knowledge of the VSA business model is an advantage. 
    • Commercial Acumen: The ability to drive value through commercial knowledge, insights and the understanding of the impact of decisions on the business, both short- and long-term impacts.
