    Officer Payroll – REF: JW393EX/2024

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Process daily and monthly employee related input onto the SAP HR/PY system on three payrolls, with regard to overtime, standby, Sunday bonus, all allowances, absenteeism etc. Process input with regard to new entries (hiring of new employees) onto the SAP HR/PY system on three payrolls. Process employee terminations on the SAP HR/PY system on three payrolls, due to retirements, deaths, resignations, dismissals, end of contracts. Process daily and monthly input on three payrolls with regard to garnishee orders; medical aids; pension funds; third party loans.
    • Process all changes on the SAP HR/PY system on three payrolls, relating to changes in employees’ master data i.e. banking details, addresses, etc. Process and maintain separate payroll information on the SAP HR/PY system for insourced staff members who are paid via the City of Johannesburg payroll. Process recalls and rejections of any kind of payroll payment i.e. salaries, housing bonds, etc. Consult with financial institutions, various medical aid companies. Provide confirmation of employment and details of employment with regard to reference checks on employees by financial institutions.
    • Calculate amounts due in all termination events, and apply for tax directives from SARS offices. Process special EFT payment documents. Ensure accurate filing system of all input documentation. HR/PY system for new employees as well as current employees and ensure that it is accurately filed electronically. Adhere to company policies, procedures and legislation. Resolve telephone queries from third party companies as well as from line management and employees. Attend to face-to-face queries from third party companies and employees.

    Accountant Management Accounting– JW393EX/2024

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform quality control on financial information. Review accuracy of actual revenue and expenditure accounts. Monitor actual expenditure against cost centre budgets. Assist with production of Financial and Management reports.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Development Engineering Officer – REF: JW393EX/2024

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Receive applications for new township developments from the City of Johannesburg. Assess the application using GIS, Alchemy and IMQS in terms of existing water and sanitation service, the layout of the water and sewer system and servitudes required.
    • Analyze the design assumptions regarding the capacity of link and bulk infrastructure to accommodate or service the demand for water and sanitation services. Receive construction drawings from consulting engineers and ensure that they conform to requirements.
    • Assess site development plans against JW’s standards to check the availability of services using GIS, Alchemy and IMQS to ensure that JW’ s services are not compromised, before approving. Receive applications for extension over building lines which include the plan, title deeds and schedule of rights.

    Depot Manager: REF: JW393EX/2024

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage the provision of all continuous water and sanitation service to the public throughout the allocated depot area. In close consultation with UFW Department ensure that unaccounted for water is kept to an acceptable minimum by managing all leaks and repairs. Ensure that all relevant records are kept for the entire Depot. Manage the installation, replacement, and testing of water meters to ensure compliance with National and Johannesburg Water standards.
    • Direct the development of a preventative maintenance programme for the entire water and sewer reticulation system – including large valves PRV’s and outfall sewers served by the depot area. Responsible for the efficient management of complains received. In conjunction with the Ops managers manage the response times. Interpret, and advise the Regional Manager on public needs, concerns and criticism in relation to the functional responsibility of the region. Plan, propose and implement pro-active measures and response to public needs.
    • Consult stakeholders in respect of functional areas of region. Co-ordinate and advice the Regional Manager on all matters relating to water and sanitation services. Attend Regional service delivery meetings and ensure that decisions taken are being implemented and resolved. Ensure sound labour relations practices and management of discipline.
    • Manage personnel in accordance with Johannesburg Water policies and legislation. Ensure the implantation of performance management as per the policy. Assist with the preparation of the operating budget. Ensure cost efficient use of materials. Ensure compliance with the OHSACT and Johannesburg Water policies and procedures.

    Quantity Surveyor – REF: JW393EX/2024

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Directly manage all commercial aspects of CAPEX Projects. Assist Line Management in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines for CAPEX Contract administration in line with latest MFMA, PFMA and JW SCM policies.

    Senior Manager: Networks – REF: JW393EX/2024

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Participate from time to time in the Executive Committee (EXCO) of Johannesburg Water. Participate in the development of the overall strategy for the Operations Department and its implementation In liaison with the Operations Support, ensure that water quality is in compliance with SABS standards (microbiological parameters) at the various pre-selected sampling points of the networks. Manage the six operational regions responsible for the operating and maintenance of the water and sewer network infrastructure including onsite water and sanitation services to informal settlements.
    • Monthly reporting on performance of regions relating to the company business plan and service level agreements with the City of Johannesburg (CoJ). Ensure the development and maintenance of IT systems that are used to execute work in the networks system. Ensure fleet vehicles are well maintained and appropriately operated. Promote the testing of new equipment and material in the operation of water and wastewater networks.
    • Interact with CoJ representatives and Councillors through the various forums in the CoJ. Identify the backlogs of the current water and wastewater infrastructure as well as the upgrading/extension requirements. Prepare the annual budget and prioritise for capital requirements. Assign clear financial objectives in terms of annual costs and ensure compliance to financial regulations and standards set.
    • Ensure that the JW HR policies and procedures are implemented on a sound basis in the regions. Ensure that activities in terms of water and wastewater networks operation and maintenance are completed according to the health and safety requirement included in the OHAS Act. Manage, operate, and maintain Special projects.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential qualifications and experience

    • National Diploma in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a professional registration as a Technologist at ECSA or GCC or
    • B-Tech Degree/ BSc in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

    • B. Degree (NQF7) in Information Management/Information Science or a Knowledge Management related discipline.
    • (5) years’ experience in Knowledge Management within a large organisation in either the public or private sector 03 years at Management level.
    • Experience in designing and/or implementing Knowledge Management systems, but specifically Microsoft SharePoint.
    • Thorough understanding of information communication and technology and the potential application to knowledge Management and knowledge sharing strategies.
