The opportunity
Within SaT, Minvest teams advise our clients on a variety of issues concerning their mining investments, mineral resource estimations, technical reviews, mineral asset valuations, financing and strategic options within the minerals, oil and gas industries. The Minvest team is a specialised mining, oil and gas team of experienced technical professionals including environmental scientists, petroleum engineers, geologists, mining engineers and chemical engineers. Your Key Responsibilities
The role is client facing and requires multi-commodity experience. In the role the you will be required to execute on proposals, project management and timeous invoicing. The role may require travel from time-to-time to remote locations.
The role is suitable to a person who has gained practical experience at a mining operation and has begun to develop competence in the Mineral Reserve estimation process. The opportunity
As a Business Product Manager you will get the opportunity to be part of Data Office Leadership team and will be pivotal in providing input for designing global vision and strategy for the data fabric roadmap.
A BPM, will be part of core product team and working with business, technical specialists across the product domains to establish a clear view of what is needed, combined with strong technical expertise to enable onward communication and engagement with the technical product managers and engineers.
The BPMs are responsible for strategic projects and incoming demand, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to team leadership as well as Data Office PMO, liaising with key stakeholders and support organizations such as IT solutions, development initiatives and other Data Office organizations.
The individual holding this role will drive high impact and transformational business initiatives that are aligned to priorities through program planning and rigor, as well as ensuring consistent and effective demand management for services to the firm.
Your Key Responsibilities
A business product managers (BPM) will be at the forefront in working with our internal and external clients to understand requirements, synthesize them, and work with technical product managers to define a product roadmap that delivers our strategic ambition.
A BPM will be responsible for strategic projects and incoming demand, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to team leadership as well as Data Office PMO, liaising with key stakeholders and support organizations such as IT solutions, development initiatives and other Data Office organizations.
The person holding this role will drive high impact and transformational business initiatives that are aligned to priorities through program planning and rigor, as well as ensuring consistent and effective demand management for services to the firm.
He will also be responsible for overseeing the operational excellence of the function including ensuring proper project management, technical support, awareness, communications through solutions enablement through relationships with key support organizations in EY Client Technology.
In addition to establishing a strong understanding of the features and capabilities of the full EY data fabric, BPM may be expected to develop deep knowledge and responsibility for specific sub-products, such as data governance and/or data supply chain.

The Ernst and Young Finance department in South Africa is facing numerous challenges in terms of additional work requirements from Ernst and Young EMEIA.
The department is led by the Finance Director who reports to the Chief Operating Officer for the Africa sub-area.
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Manager – Finance to join the team. The position requires a Chartered Accountant that has broad knowledge on various accounting concepts, IFRS standards, Companies Act, accounting and taxation principles, knowledge of system controls and procedures, knowledge of valuations and discounted cashflows, ability to review financial records and reconciliations (general ledger / creditors).
The incumbent must also have a basic understanding of the creditors, debtors, general ledger and payroll functions with an ability to obtain a detailed understanding / ability to make process/ procedure recommendations through interactions with the various teams.
The incumbent must also have the passion, willingness and ability to deal with an extensive number of people at both senior and junior levels that require financial assistance, advice and direction. Exceptional client service is required, whilst simultaneously upholding and maintaining appropriate corporate governance standards and principles.
The incumbent must also have the willingness and ability to understand systems and the controls and processes that exist within systems in a level of detail and be able to translate system operations in lay man terms to the broader organisation.
The incumbent must in due course have the ability to interact with legal teams, bankers and external auditors and work with minimal supervision.
Reporting Relationships:
The position reports to the Finance Director There is close interaction with the Service Line COOs, the Reporting team, the South Africa and Africa Finance team and Country leaders in each country.
Principal Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Finance Director and review and provide a second opinion into the various outputs (reports, reviews of the Finance department), taxation position papers / computation, legal documents, etc
Assist in the rollout of any financial and operational models/ tools developed by the EMEIA central team across the sub-area.
Compile presentations as and when required from the Finance Director / Chief Operating Officer
Represent the Finance Department on projects that are that need to be performed in the Finance department.
Work closely with the Finance Director and take on projects as and when requested that will drive understanding of how the Finance function at EY operates.
Obtain a detailed understanding of the processes, systems and procedures within the accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable and payroll functions and provide improvement recommendations and suggestions to the Finance Director
Execute on financial and operational projects as required from time to time meeting relevant quality standards and deadlines.
Assist the Finance Director in establishing best practices, processes, strategies to deliver a world class Finance Organisation.
Project management of various deliverables that are the responsibility of the Finance Director, as and when required.
Monitor and feedback reporting compliance of South Africa against EMEIA accounting standards, guidelines and policies (eg accounting for partner compensation, reporting in terms of SSL structures, accounting for CBS staff).
Conduct weekly and monthly review of financial results across the sub-area and engage Country Leaders and Finance teams for feedback on specific questions/ queries, including items raised by Operations.
