    Junior Recruitment Officer

    Job description

    Reports To: Recruitment Officer

    Position Purpose:

    The SPARK Schools Junior Recruitment Officer drives student achievement in our network of schools by taking part in the recruitment and selection of excellent staff at all levels of the organisation. The SPARK Schools Junior Recruitment Officer sources candidates externally and internally to ensure that the staff at SPARK Support (central office), as well as instructional and operational staff in the schools, are “A-team players.”

    The SPARK Schools Junior Recruitment Officer is integral to the SPARK Schools “university culture” and our commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences for our scholars across the network.

    Responsibilities

    • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organisational plans for growth; meets with relevant line managers about specific position requirements.
    • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting recruiters, universities, and relevant community organisations and seeking opportunities to make presentations and attend career fairs.
    • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites.
    • Aligns interview requirements per position by studying job description and required job qualifications.
    • Participates in the recruitment process, including reviewing applications, conducting phone interviews, scheduling and facilitating in-person interviews, working with line managers to analyse practical tasks, and arranging final meetings with relevant staff members.
    • Works efficiently and professionally throughout recruitment process, keeping thorough records and using data about applicant pool to drive recruitment.
    • Prepares and presents weekly, monthly, and termly reports on network-wide recruitment status to relevant stakeholders.
    • Remains abreast of current legislation to ensure fair hiring practice and to enforce position-specific regulation in job descriptions and recruitment.
    • Participate actively in staff development opportunities as a member of the SPARK Schools team.
    • Conduct self in a professional manner at all SPARK Schools events and to all stakeholders.
    • Nurture a high-achieving work environment where all prospective and current staff feel genuinely valued and supported.
    • Promote the vision and mission of SPARK Schools to staff, scholars, families, and the greater community

    Requirements

    Experience

    • Previous experience in recruitment administration for a high-performing organisation, preferably in the education industry.
    • Previous experience in large volume recruitment.

    Junior Enrolment Officer

    Job description

    Reports To: Enrolment Officer

    Purpose Of Role

    The Junior Enrolment Administrator is an integral to the SPARK School's mission to create systemic change in South African education.

    Responsibilities

    Requirements

    • Respond to calls and email communication from prospective families.
    • Track and promptly follow-up on new student applications.
    • Dealing with enrollment queries.
    • Liaise with families regarding outstanding enrollment documentation.
    • Maintain accurate and complete student records, both physical and digital files.
    • Continuously update, per school in-take to identify grades which have met full capacity.
    • Maintain and manage waitlists
    • Enter or assign entry of family data/personal information in database.
    • Provides continuous support to the enrollment officer.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    Experience

    • Experience with data entry and the ability to work across several Web-based applications.
    • Experience working with Excel using basic formulas and different file formats.

    Skills and Mindsets

    • Strong clerical skills, such as proficiency with google docs, spreadsheets and databases.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain a professional and responsive rapport with families and outside agencies.

    Sales Representative

    Job description

    Reports To: Manager of Sales and Enrolment

    Purpose of Role: The SPARK Schools Sales Representative drives student achievement in the SPARK Schools network by ensuring that our schools are fully enrolled with committed local families. The Sales representative’s role in the SPARK Schools network is integral to the SPARK Schools Support mission to create systemic change in South African education.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide new strategies to Manager of Sales and Enrolment on how to increase sales and attend to customers.
    • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
    • Meet enrolment targets through various marketing and branding strategies.
    • Facilitate the enrolment process for each new student entering a SPARK School, from initial enquiry to submission of all necessary forms (application and contracts) and fees.
    • Provide support with on-the-ground efforts to recruit families, including Open Days, school tours, neighbourhood flyering, and other efforts.
    • Performing cost-­benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
    • Promote the vision and mission of SPARK Schools Support to SPARK Schools Support staff and SPARK Schools staff, scholars, families, and the greater community.

    Office Cleaner

    Reports To: Office Manager

    Position Purpose

    SPARK Support is the hub of support for our schools network. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the support office environment is maintained at a standard of excellence. The Support Office Cleaner plays an integral part in the culture of excellence and overall customer experience for all our stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    Requirements

    • Ensure the cleanliness of the support office by ensuring that all working and common areas, kitchen and storage areas neat, tidy and hygienic
    • Report facilities maintenance issues or concerns to the Office Manager
    • Manage cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any damaged or lost items to the Office Manager
    • Participate actively in staff development opportunities as a member of the SPARK Schools Support team
    • Provides refreshments for support team members either during meetings or as per individual request
    • Assists the Office Manager with various administrative duties that includes printing, scanning and photocopying
    • Daily reception and switchboard relief which includes the receiving SPARK visitors
    • Assists the Office Manager in catering requirements for meetings and assists in the setting up and clearing of the meeting rooms

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Minimum of a Grade 12
    • Preference will be given to candidates who posses a certificate in business administration, secretarial studies or computer literacy
    • At least 1 year administration and or office experience
