    New Verticals Account Manager

    About The Role

    As a New Verticals Account Manager, you will be in charge of developing Uber Grocery in specific areas and/or cities, both on the topline (orders and clients growth) and bottom line (average basket), with a strong focus on the partner's dimension! You'll have to drive business performance in your area.

    What You'll Do

    • Operational Improvement: Drive forward operational improvement with your partners to ensure that together we are delivering the best experience to Uber Eats users - whether that’s making sure they received what they ordered or they’re receiving it when they expect it.
    • Growth: Develop plans in conjunction with your partners to grow their business through adding locations, experimenting with new business models (eg. dark kitchens) or growing same-location sales (eg. effective marketing, menu optimisation).
    • Analysis: Quantify everything you do. Utilise data-driven decision making to understand the performance of initiatives to ensure you are effectively prioritising those with the highest return on investment.
    • Commercial Management: Lead commercial discussions with enterprise partners to build sustainable long-term partnerships.
    • Build tools and processes: Use your analytical ability combined with operational rigour to build tools and processes to drive forward partnership KPIs.
    • Partner with internal teams: Work closely with stakeholders in internal teams both in the RSA and globally (eg. Product, Support, Courier Operations) to solve problems and ensure that feedback received is utilised in improving our product and operations.

    What You'll Need

    • At least 2 years of proven experience in a sales or account management role, but we will consider a range of backgrounds
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a commercial/ technical field
    • Excel proficiency and a knack for dealing with numbers and analysis
    • Ability to take initiatives and easily adapt to constantly-changing work environment.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate recommendations and optimally champion customer needs
    • Highly autonomous - able to work with minimal oversight
    • Be proactive and build positive and lasting relationships with our grocery partners, bringing them added value and helping them to reach their potential on Uber Eats
    • Project Management: good organization & managerial skills
    • Ability to compute number and land on a data-based strategy
    • Problem solving skills: when you see a problem, you work hard and think out of the box until you fix it

    Territory Account Manager, UEE South Africa (Data Analyst)

    The Account Manager will embody this strategy by driving the growth of specific cities, areas and partners both on the topline (orders and clients growth) and bottom line (average basket), with a strong focus on the partner's dimension & experience of the marketplace! It calls for a combination of an operational mindset, analysis of performance and exceptional relationship management. We are looking for an individual who will thrive in an "all hands on deck" environment, loves solving problems, and above all be passionate about our partners and their growth. The successful candidate will drive the analysis behind various commercial-related decisions and strategic bets! They will also be supporting in crafting the strategy of key projects from a merchant perspective to guide the UEE teams into a more proactive dynamic with our partners. This position will require working hand-in-hand with several UEE team members.

    What You'll Do

    • Be in charge of driving business performance
    • Identify key merchants to acquire to keep enriching the selection already available on the platform, and coordinate with our dedicated sales team to make sure to close the deal
    • Create long-term relationships with key accounts, ultimately enhancing their financials, marketing efforts, engagement and satisfaction. A key influence in their delivery business.
    • Drive on-the-ground knowledge and context about the city & partner operations to the wider Uber Eats South Africa team
    • Act as an ambassador of the Uber Eats mission, brand, and product
    • Communicate the value of Uber Eats to partners and customers
    • Lead and coordinate end-to-end sales motion for Enterprise prospects including qualification, education, pricing/quoting, contract negotiation to close deals
    • Build strategic relationships to gain positioning with decision-makers while driving growth of new business
    • Acquire an extensive knowledge of the partners, area and cities to identify further options to grow & developing new business pillars e.g. Convenience, Grocery Build tools and processes: Use analytical ability combined with operational rigour to drive forward critical metrics
    • Partner with internal teams: Work closely with stakeholders in internal teams both in the RSA and globally (e.g. Product, Support, Courier Operations) to take on problems and ensure that feedback received is applied in improving our product and operations
    • Support in the guidance of the UEE team to deliver analytical deep dives partnering with fellow account managers and commercial teams to drive standard methodology and decision making
    • Translate analytical solutions into useful insights and recommendations in a clear, concise, and persuasive way
    • Support in projects and initiatives aligned with the SA strategic pillars

    What You'll Need:

    • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in an account management role, but we will consider a range of backgrounds
    • Bachelor's Degree in a commercial/ technical field
    • Excel proficiency and an interest in dealing with numbers and analysis
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate recommendations and effectively champion customer needs
    • Desire to deal with restaurants/merchants & build strategic partnerships, being proactive, creating positive and lasting relationships to bring them added new value and help them to reach their potential on Uber Eats
    • Project Management: good organization, prioritization & time management skills
    • Problem solving skills: see a problem, work hard and think out of the box until you fix it
    • Build positive and lasting relationships with our Uber Eats partners
    • Highly autonomous: able to work with minimal oversight
    • Must have analytical skills and eye for business
    • Basic query building or programming knowledge (SQL) would be a plus
    • Experience working with large data sets would be a plus
