    Branch Manager - Witbank

    Job purpose

    The Branch Manager is responsible for organising and managing all sales related activities in the Witbank Branch.

    This includes but is not limited to the following:

    • Generating revenue to ensure a profit.
    • Promoting of the company and welfare of all employees at the branch.
    • Manage all costs to ensure adherence to budget parameters.
    • Coaching, training, motivating and guiding all employees at the branch.
    • Implementing and enforcing operating policies and procedures.
    • Delivering agreed sales operating targets and goals.
    • Implementing strategies to ensure safe and efficient retail store operation and continuous improvement .

    Responsibilities:

    Financials and Sales:

    • Achieve all branch target sales
    • Control branch expenses within business parameters
    • Ensure that company assets are maintained
    • Ensure superior service delivery
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, analyses, and reports of branch operations and finances
    • Establish and maintain close relationships with customers
    • Manage all Certificate of Compliances (COCs)
    • Manage dead and slow moving stock
    • Manage stock holding to less than 1 (one) months turn over
    • Managing internal and external stakeholder relations and negotiating contracts

    Achieve Health and Safety standards as set out by Company

    • Communicate the company policy on health and safety to all staff effectively and on a continual basis (toolbox talk)
    • Communicate any risk, injury, loss of life or damage to company assets to management in line with prescribed company procedures
    • Achieve a minimum of 95% on all Safety Audits.

    Adhere to company policies & procedures

    • Maintain a working knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act
    • Adhere to the companies amalgamated policies & procedures published on the company Intranet
    • Maintain knowledge of companies Industrial Relations policies and procedures and interact with People department as required

    Site visits

    • Analyze audit feedback and ensure all problems are rectified
    • Attend monthly site meetings with site customers
    • Attend random visits to ensure that Bridgestone site employees are performing  

    General

    • Undertake all reasonable requests and instructions, given verbally or in writing, which fall within the parameters of this job.
    • Adherence to such requests or instructions
    • Achieve a minimum of 90% on all Internal and Facilities Audits

    Education and Experience required :

    • MS Office Advanced
    • Self-starter with ability to work independently and under pressure

    Production Scheduler-Brits Manufacturing Plant

    Job purpose

    Ensure full and efficient utilization of plant and equipment in order to produce the required units at correct quality, cost, time and in a safe manner

    Main responsibilities

    Safety

    • Ensure that all safety measures are adhered to regarding: monthly safety meetings, demarcation, space provided for all material and new lay-outs done.
    • SHE Management: ISO 14001:2004 Environmental and OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. Ensure compliance and continued improvements to the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental and OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems Procedures to ensure compliance to Company's Safety, Health & Environmental Policy & Applicable Legal and other requirements.

    Quality

    • Quality of output regarding lay outs and FIFO systems and balance of materials controlled.

    Planning

    • Control material flow in departments responsible for schedules by proper inventory control at the correct time and in safe manner

    Waste reduction

    • Minimizing waste by properly balancing off, of stocks and reclaiming of material.
    • Ensure that waste is minimized.
    • Machinery utilization
    • Ensure that machines are utilized at 100%.
    • Ensure that ticket is attained.

    Qualified candidates for this important position will therefore need to demonstrate the following:

    Tyre Serviceman

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The person must be able to work under supervision, appreciate their role in delivering customer service, possess common sense and initiative, demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their tyre fitting skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential 

    • A valid and appropriate light vehicle driver’s licence (South African Code 08).
    • Grade 12 National Certificate

    Preferred:

    • A valid and appropriate heavy vehicle drivers licence (South African Code 10).
    • Grade 12 National certificate with maths and science.

    Duties

    The following is a general list of tasks that a Tyre Serviceman is required to perform. The Company may add to or vary these duties from time to time provided the variation is reasonable having regard to the Employee’s skills, competence and training.

    • Comply with Otraco Southern Africa’s policies procedures and instructions,
    • Comply with client policies, procedures and instructions.
    • Accurately record tyre change or other information and file or forward the information as required,
    • Perform equipment checks and calibrations according to procedures, Fit and remove wheels from any type of vehicle according to procedures,
    • Mount and strip any type of tyre and rim assembly according to procedures,
    • Perform repairs to tyres and tubes according to procedures,
    • Operate forklifts and tyre handlers according to procedures
    • Clean, paint and crack test rim components,
    • Perform Inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components to remain in service,
    • Maintain tyre operating pressures in accordance with site specifications,
    • Maintain a high quality of service to the client,
    • Present himself in a condition fit to perform his duties,
    • Complete any other duties allocated

    Safety

    • Work safely and follow Occupational Health and Safety Procedures,
    • Comply with site “lock out” / “tag out” procedures,
    • Report hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment,
    • Immediately report incidents and injuries to the supervisor,
    • Comply with applicable instructions as per on-site Safety Plan,
    • Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment according to procedures,
    • Perform vehicle Pre-start checks according to procedures.
    • Operate and maintain tools and equipment according to procedures,
    • Contribute to meetings and inspections in order to improve safety in the workplace,
    • Perform Risk Assessments and take control actions to reduce the risk of Injury or damage to equipment,

      • ID 9864: Repair and replace light and heavy commercial vehicle tyres, Level 3, 17 credits.
      • ID 9865: Remove and replace wheels and tyres from industrial machines and equipment, Level 3, 10 credits. o ID 256176: Remove and replace off-the-road (OTR) wheels and tyres, Level 2, 8 credits.

    General Worker (Tryres)- Rustenburg

    Responsibilities:

    Tyre Maintenance

    • All vehicles to leave the yard with tyres as per SLA;
    • All vehicles are surveyed at least once a month;
    • Conduct pressure maintenance and correctly capture pressure readings on Survey Sheet;
    • Capture tread depth readings over three sections of the tread area and capture on Survey Sheet;
    • Fit all wheel positions with valve caps and on all dual positions a valve extension;
    • All tyre movements are captured on a Tyre Change Slip;
    • All wheel changes must be done subject to SLA;
    • Remove smooth tyres and match tread, size and status mismatches;
    • Remove tyres with a pressure reading under a 15% of the recommended pressure and check for irregularities;
    • Brand tyres as per Bridgestone Commercial and Client agreement;
    • Torque all wheel positions at least once a month;
    • Report all wheel defects with a Tyre Action Report;
    • Inspect and clean rims before fitting tyres.

    Stock

    • Stock is taken on a daily basis in a Bridgestone Commercial Stock Book;
    • Stock must be taken by size and brand number;
    • Report daily stock to Customer. (Sign off Stock Sheet);
    • All tyres in stock must have a brand number for identification.

    Health & Safety

    • Correctly lift motor vehicle;
    • Utilize correct tools for the job;
    • Correctly fit tyres to rim;
    • Fit wheels on to motor vehicles correctly;
    • Always dressed in Bridgestone Commercial PPE;
    • Handle tools with care and keep them clean at all times;
    • Ensure work area and yard is always clean;
    • Machines & tools are always stored correct and safely;
    • Dressing rooms are always presentable and neat;
    • Ensure that no company property gets damaged;
    • Tyres are neatly packed and clearly marked for easy identification;
    • Comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
    • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment and facilities provided by the company are in good and clean working condition.

    Administration

    • Capture tyre survey info in a Bridgestone Commercial Survey Book;
    • Capture all tyre movements in a Bridgestone Commercial Tyre Change Slip Book;
    • All tyres sent to the factory must be captured in a Factory Control Book;
    • Keep a Branding Register of all tyres branded;
    • All paperwork must be stored in a save dry place.

    Customer Liaison

    • Identify all Maintenance Related Problems and report to the customer;
    • Maintain a good working relationship with the customer;
    • Undertake all reasonable requests and instructions, given verbally or in writing that falls within the parameters of own line of duty;
    • Ensure customer satisfaction at all times.

    General Responsibilities

    • Torque wrench spring relax after use;
    • Lubricate impact on daily basis;
    • Drain water traps and compressor daily;
    • Clean and store equipment daily;
    • Compliance to health and safety procedures on site.

    Requirements:

    • National senior Certificate/Matric
    • Proficiency in English
    • 2 years tyre experience
