    Technician - Hyundai Cape Town

    Key Responsibilities And Duties

    • Repair and service motor vehicles according to Motus standards and specifications Requirements Of Key Duties And Responsibilities
    • Repair and service vehicles according to specific or franchise specifications
    • Establish parts required for service or repairs to be performed and ensure the correct parts are ordered
    • Report to Foreman / Service Advisor promptly on any additional work required
    • Obtain authorisation prior to carrying out additional work
    • Obtain technical information from Foreman / Master Technician on problem jobs
    • Adhere to Motus workshop policies and procedures
    • Ensure that all old parts are placed in a plastic bag in the boot of the vehicle, except in the case of warranty work where old parts must be returned to the Warranty Clerk
    • Ensure that all oils and consumables used are recorded on the job card
    • Ensure that worked hours are clocked correctly
    • Ensure that the vehicle is kept as clean as possible and that all seat and fender covers are clean
    • Do not leave keys in an unattended vehicle
    • Ensure that work bay is kept safe, clean and tidy
    • Report any faulty / broken equipment to the Foreman / Workshop Manager
    • Ensure that special tools and equipment are used according to safety regulations and specifications
    • Ensure that hand tools set conforms to Motus standard
    • Accept responsibility for apprentice and impart as much technical knowledge to him as possible through explanation, practice and the monitoring of work, including rectifying faults
    • Reasonable requests by Management outside your job description will be performed from time to time

    Parts Manager (Hyundai Midrand)

    Job Description    
    The Parts Manager will be responsible for the following:

    • To ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
    • To maintain an agreed profit margin and return on investment
    • To actively seek to maintain / achieve an acceptable market share
    • To maintain a satisfactory parts service to other dealership departments
    • To sell the maximum amount of parts to trade and retail customers

    Specific Role Responsibilities    
    Responsibilities:

    • Interview, select and hire required staff according to Company policy
    • Staff- to establish and maintain adequately trained staff needed to achieve agreed objectives
    • Responsible for performance management and maintenance of discipline of staff
    • Training - to maintain training standards and to ensure that customer relations training is particularly effective
    • To keep all staff updated on changes to existing models and on newly introduced models, exchange units and accessories
    • Administration - to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded and information passed on to other departments
    • To ensure that stock levels are promptly and accurately updated To monitor customer credit facilities
    • To ensure payment for goods supplied is collected timeously
    • To ensure that a concise record of cash deposits held is kept
    • Deposits to be taken on specially ordered parts of 100% of retail price and on fast-moving parts of 50%

    Qualifications and Experience    

    • 2-3 years experience in same or similar role
    • Minimum 3 years experience in the motor industry
    • Matric/Equivalent
    • Tertiary Qualification (pref)

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    • The Workshop Foreman has the primary responsibility to make sure customers receive consistent, timely and accurate service.

    Job Description

    Position Overview

    Cost Control:

    • To examine monthly/quarterly management accounts

    LIMITS OF AUTHORITY:

    Capital Expenditure:

    • (State in full as agreed with Dealer Principal showing split between new and used car operations).

    Personnel:

    • Recruitment and dismissal of all Staff within agreed limits.

    Operational:

    • Authorisation to order new cars or purchase/tradein of new vehicles within agreed targets and forecasts.
    • Authority to proceed on credit sales applications and determine discounts within agreed limits.

    MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Staff:

    • To establish the staffing levels required to achieve departmental objectives.
    • To select, hire, train and develop sales department staff.
    • To identify departmental training needs in conjunction with training staff.
    • To ensure resultant training programmers are completed and adequate records maintained.
    • Establish and administer "indealership" training as required to cater for new model launches.
    • Operate staff performance and appraisal systems and ensure action taken on results.
    • Establish and review sales basic pay and incentive schemes..

    Administration:

    • Ensure all administrative functions, returns, record keeping and clerical operations are carried out at the appropriate time and kept up to date.
    • Review with Dealer Principal all activities and reporting systems within department.

    Communications:

    • Maintain good liaison with other managers.
    • Advise Dealer Principal and all other managers on sales matters.
    • Advice subordinates on appropriate sales related matters.
    • Maintain direct liaison with manufacturers’ representatives and all other contracts.
    • Propose special sales promotions as appropriate.
    • Ensure adequate stocks of car and product display material is available..

    Marketing:

    • Formulate marketing plan, initiate and conduct new car launches and promotions.
    • Formulate marketing plan and initiate used car sales promotions.. Analyse local customer/car preference statistics and compare with new and used car forecasts, acting on any anomalies detected.
    • Handle customer complaints and ensure corrective action is taken.
    • Maintain record of customer complaints or congratulations for analysis and use as required..

    Finance:

    • Review all pricing policies, discounts and "tradein" dealings to maintain dealership profitability.
    • Monitor costs and general condition of demonstrator fleet.
    • Monitor sales department financial performance weekly.
    • Monitor credit and finance commission income to ensure budget requirements are met.

    Qualifications and Experience    
    EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

    • Uptodate knowledge of vehicle legislation and of trade practices.
    • Able to motivate a sales team to achieve objectives.
    • Sales qualification, technical qualifications an added advantage.
    • Minimum experience required: 3 years in a similar environment2.
    • Minimum Qualification: Higher Certificate.
    • Volume dealer experience 45 new cars per month
    • Manage a team of 8 Sales Executives.
    • Financial, online and marketing experience will be favourable.
    • Internal and external complaint management and resolution will be favourable
