    Manager: Quality Promotion - 2 positions

    • Key responsibilities of the University’s Quality Assurance directorate are to lead, plan, monitor and maintain the Quality Assurance and Management Information Systems for the University, including ensuing compliance and conformance to policies in terms of the Department of Higher Education and Training, the Council on Higher Education, the South African Qualifications Authority and relevant professional bodies.
    • Reporting to the Director: Quality Assurance & Information Management, the University seeks to appoint two Quality Promotion Managers. These individuals will be responsible for promoting, and coordinating quality management processes across the University, such as programme reviews, review of support services and supporting processes for the development of new formal programmes to ensure accreditation and registration of these by the external regulatory framework. The candidates will demonstrate willingness to participate in regional and national quality assurance engagements including commenting on draft national policies.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Managing the cyclical review of programmes in conjunction with the University’s quality assurance framework, demonstrating collaboration with the Academic Planning Unit (APU) . This includes interacting with key stakeholders, facilitating capacity development workshops in line with the programme review processes, coordinating the schedule for programme reviews and supporting the development of programme review reports.
    • Ensuring that action plans for programme improvement are drafted by faculty, approved by Senate and that the interventions are implemented and monitored on a regular basis.
    • Track and consolidate curriculum changes by programme/s and work with the faculties and the Academic Planning Unit to monitor the extent of changes made as a result of the outcomes of programme reviews.
    • In conjunction with the APU, offer workshops to support the design of new programmes and the amendment of existing programmes in accordance with regulatory requirements and processes.
    • Track new programme approval, accreditation and registration.
    • Build a culture of continuous improvement in support of the University’s academic mandate and aspirations.
    • Quality Promotion Managers will also be required to support regulatory site visits and quality assurance audits, and, amongst others, this entails:
      • Assisting departments to coordinate the planning and preparation for regulatory site visits and audits and support departments in the development of the required self-evaluation reports.
      • Support the processes to determine the extent to which the University is meeting regulatory requirements and standards set by accrediting bodies and identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations for enhancing processes, practices, and systems.

    Minimum Requirements

    Minimum requirements (qualification and experience):

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification (NQF level 7). Preference will be given to applicants in possession of an Honours or Masters degree
    • At least three years in a similar position which has included programme accreditation and programme reviews and/or curriculum design and development

    Required competencies (skills, knowledge and behavioural attributes):

    • High level of computer literacy
    • Project planning, monitoring, and evaluation skills.
    • Ability to understand curriculum content for a higher education qualification.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.

    Manager: Student Recruitment - 2 positions

    Reporting to the Director: Student Enrolment Management Unit, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following areas:

    • Provide support to the Director with regard to the compilation and evaluation of student recruitment plans and strategies.
    • Manage and monitor the implementation of selected recruitment strategies and provide formal monitoring and review reports.
    • Manage and coordinate promotional activity for out-bound school visits, career exhibitions and other recruitment and career activities as per the recruitment plan.
    • Advise on programmes  on offer  and highlight admission requirements during career activities.
    • Enquiry management, including the referral of and enhancing of inquiry systems in conjunction with the Student Recruitment Administrator.
    • Assist with all other inbound student recruitment activities as and when necessary- must have a driver’s licence and be able to undertake and/ or participate in in-country travelling.
    • Network with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
    • Contribute to an ethos of collaboration, teamwork and excellence in the Unit.

    Minimum Requirements

    Minimum Requirements (Qualification and Experience)

    • The successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification at NQF level 7 
    • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact on all levels

    Analyst: Software Operations - 2 positions

    • The purpose of this job is to provide control, assurance and administrative support to the Software Development and Support unit in respect of defining and maintaining the business value derived from business applications; the functional and technical requirements of business departments; the maintenance of users’ needs and expectations and the planning and control of personnel and 3rd party performance expectations.

    The key role and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: 

    • Plan, manage and coordinate software skills development by maintaining  the Annual Skills Plan of developers and analysts,
    • Monitor and report on Third party value contributions to the department and institution,
    • Analyse and report on applications preventative and maintenance plans in respect of their capacity and performance with respect to mission critical systems such as INFORLN, MAS, EDUCOS, SASI, QURIO, RMS, DMP, etc),
    • Manage and report on the conformance, compliance status of software unit team leads (technical system owners) contributions in respect of their monthly, quarterly  and annually, performance, risk and audit progress and recommend improvement suggestions, 
    • Measure the software unit’s adherence to quality standard and procedures including recommending quality / performance improvements,
    • Maintain the alignment between business expectations and the technical systems by gaining and maintaining oversight of the Software Application Portfolio,
    • Ensure proper budgeting and forecasting occurs in respect of each business application by comparing planned budgets and expenditures, 
    • Maintain a register of technical changes and make sure that all applications changes are expedited and commissioned within time and according to specifications.

    • 2  Years’ experience in Information Systems management
