    Strategy Developer West & Central

    Job Summary: 

    • Designs, develops, and implements marketing programs and strategies to support the organization's products and services within the regional market.
    • Utilizes specific marketing strategies and media, including print, broadcast, and digital, to effectively launch and position products.
    • Plans, develops, and delivers comprehensive marketing strategies for products and associated brands, while evaluating and managing product/brand, including budgeting and return on investment. 

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with sales and technical teams to identify and implement targeted marketing strategies and programs.
    • Engage in face- to-face and remote sales efforts to new and existing customers, assessing their needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
    • Provides customer service and support related to product inquiries and issue resolution, with compensation tied to the achievement of sales targets.

    • Manage and co-ordinate pricing and market funding strategy as part of the GtM strategy to ensure profitable business growth for customer facing squad.

    • Act as the key marketing contact for the region between customer facing squads and supporting squads ensuring effective implementation of GtM strategy and regular feedback.
    • Analyze market, macro-trends, customer needs and competitor strategies to identify new business opportunities based upon unmet needs of current and new customers.
    • Collaborate with business intelligence and customer insight team to generate necessary customer insight to develop customer centric marketing strategies and aligned campaigns
    • Collaboratively coordinate with the customer facing squad and unit support squad to address needs and evaluate GtM strategies.
    • Support efficient implementation of key Stewardship measures as part of the GtM strategy and tailored crop solution.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the development and effective implementation of GtM strategies.
    • Contribute to a customer centric and ‘on the ground’ Customer Marketing Team and place customer needs, value proposition and practical implementation central to all decision making.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Agriculture or Marketing/Business administration
    • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in agricultural marketing or commercial

    • Ability to drive change in complex and stable organization while not being disruptive to the business.
    • Ability to collaborate/communicate with and develop internal and external partnerships
    • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel / Power Point / Word) a prerequisite
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    Market Development Representative

    Job Purpose:

    • This role will focus on demonstrating the value of our portfolio, knowledge transfer and technical solutions to our partners and customers.
    • The MDR creates demand at customer level directly as well as with the channel partners by identifying and providing technical solutions through a dedicated trialing focus. to He/she also collaborates with other functions to maximize the value of our business and ensure realization of our commercial strategy in line with relevant KPI’s.

    • Demand creation: Work cross functionally to implement local launch activities of new vegetable varieties (NVIs) and/or solutions. Demonstrate value and provide technical recommendations that supports customer success. Organize events to generate demand.
    • Solution development: Coordinate and conduct agronomic trials for product placement and tailored solutions under local farming conditions with internal and external commercial stakeholders including customers.
    • Innovation & Digital: Embrace digital tools and technologies, utilizing data and insights to offer customer focused solutions and enhance dealers’-partners’ capabilities; generate high quality data and insights to strengthen the company’s understanding of our customers. Product Portfolio & Agronomic Knowledge: Use agronomic and portfolio knowledge to provide market and competitor insights, advise stakeholders on crop production/management best practices and Key Tasks:
    • Conducting Trials & Product Positioning : Provides timely completion of data on trials, placement of trials to meet the local market needs, and integrity of the data collected. Communicate actionable insights from this applied research that are based upon sound data analysis. Positioning tailored solutions. Coordinate and conduct PCM4 trials under local farming conditions with business channel partners (distributors) and customers (growers) for various crops. Provides placement of trials to meet the local market needs, furthermore secure integrity of the data collected.
    • Complain management: Assist with technical information on the crop and/or variety and field/location affected.
    • Launch Excellence: Ensure product Launch Excellence and proper product deployment within West African market.

    • Business Engagement & Planning: Secure alignment to the relevant commercial strategy and influence the strategic direction of the breeding and research programs through analysis of market trends, competitive landscape and new technologies.
    • Collaboration: Build strong-collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic influencers across agriculture and technology industry to provide technical solutions beyond advancements in genetic gain. Work cross-functionally on events (field days, grower summits, grower meetings, etc.) to generate demand for the vegetable portfolio at customers’ level. 

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum Bsc. in Agricultural or Life science; Horticulture, Genetics, Plant Pathology, Entomology or Agricultural Business
    • Proficiency English; proficiency in local Afrikaans language is an added advantage
    • Self-motivated and assertive with a strong results orientation
    • Strong agronomic experience preferred (product development, agricultural consulting, agricultural production, promotion, research)

    Logistics Specialist - Klerksdorp

    Job Purpose:

    • Manage the end-to-end logistics process, from order confirmation to delivery and returns, utilizing Bayer analytics tools (SAP, TMS, Smart Center, Four Kites systems).
    • Coordinate with internal, direct customers and 3PL to ensure timely and efficient execution of logistics activities.

    Key Task and Responsibilities:

    • Lead and optimize logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
    • Analyze logistics performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategic cost saving solutions.
    • Execute end-to-end TMS planning, including cost optimization, vehicle and route optimization, turnaround time management and communication
    • Create shipments in TMS and manage the delivery confirmation process with commercial teams, direct customers, and 3PLs.
    • Ensure accurate freight carrier information in TMS and validate freight bill costs against SAP. Submit necessary documents (PO, GRV) to finance for invoice processing.
    • Maintain and update rate cards in the Transportation Management System (TMS) on a monthly and annual basis.
    • Coordinate inter-facility stock transfers (STOs) for seed and crop protection portfolios.
    • Consolidate daily VLO60 report and submit to the commercial & customer interaction teams.
    • Manage the delivery confirmation process with the commercial team, direct customer & 3PL.
    • Monitor EDI connection flow between 3PLs and Bayer internal systems.
    • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external teams (commercial, direct customers, 3PL).
    • Collaborate with the 3PL to conduct weekly and monthly inventory reconciliations. Identify and resolve any discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
    • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential issues. Manage and monitor logistics functionality KPI’s (Smart Center – TMS vehicle utilization, TMS optimization, TMS adoption, Tender adherence, on time pickup, on time delivery, freight cost, last mile visibility).
    • Ensure all proof of delivery documentation (POD’s), goods return notes (GRN), exchange/return  approval is captured into TMS for each respective SAP delivery processed.
    • Liaise with the commercial and 3PL warehouse teams to manage and coordinate the GRN process, enabling logistics to process return credits within 48 hours of receipt.

    Utilise Bayer analytics tools:

    Transport Management Systems (TMS:):

    • Manage all aspects of transportation, including carrier selection, route planning, load optimization, and shipment tracking
    • Optimize routes, consolidate shipments, and negotiate better rates with carriers, leading to cost savings Smart Center:
    • Monitor the dashboard to manage TMS shipment status (on time, at risk, delayed) Four Kites:
    • Monitor the progress of their goods in transit to provide real-time tracking of shipments SAP:
    • Delivery release, EDI transmission flow
    • Ensure all consignment stock is uplifted, processed, and inventory is returned to the 3PL warehouse.
    • Provide updates to the 3PL regarding carrier arrival slots, customer and consignment returns.
    • Process returned consignments within 48 hours of receipt in the SAP system accordingly.
    • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements for seed and crop protection warehouse and distribution activities, including freight carrier compliance.
    • Liaise with suppliers/vendors and undertake vendor evaluations to ensure good service delivery while ensuring timely approval and payment of their invoices.
    • Support customer complaints investigations
    • Undertake additional administrative, project, and ad-hoc functional support tasks as needed

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Minimum of 3 years experience within Distribution and Warehousing, Import & Exports, logistics
    • Degree/Diploma in Supply chain management/ Distribution and Warehousing/ Logistics/ IT programming/systems
    • Strong understanding & execution of logistics principles and practices
    • Computer literate, Microsoft office proficient and SAP experience
    • Excellent  written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Knowledge of the Seed and Agricultural chemical markets is advantageous
    • Fluent in English, Afrikaans,  local vernacular advantageous

    Customer Service Representative SAC

    Job Purpose:

    • To manage the end-to-end customer order cycle for the SSA region, ensuring accurate order processing, efficient logistics coordination and pro-active issue resolution.
    • This role is critical in building strong distributor  and Key accounts relationships, ensuring compliance with regional trade requirements and supporting  the company’s growth strategy in diverse SSA markets.

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

    Interact with customers (directly and via sales team members)

    • Act as point of escalation for operational daily requirements providing best in class service and autonomy in business daily operations
    • Orchestrate the service relationship, acting as primary contact for assigned customer accounts
    • Analyze account history, understand the region’s supply needs, help make decisions to optimize orders and product deliveries
    • Provide information on orders, supply availability, timing, updates on products, programs, etc.
    • Reach out to customers for missing Customer Master data information to process sales orders
    • Seek customer feedback to track satisfaction level and identify solutions to improve experience
    • SME – order flow & systems and reporting

    Resolve any immediately addressable customer requests

    • Receive requests from customers and sales team members via unstructured communication (phone, email, etc.)

    Required Qualifications:

    • BS/BA/Bcom in Business / Supply Chain Management, or related fields required; MS/MBA preferred
    • 5 years of operational experience in Customer Service, Commercial, Logistics, Supply Chain & Administration, incl. managing teams (Strong domain knowledge in agriculture preferred)
    • Key competencies: customer focus, strategic mindset, results oriented, collaboration, agility, conflict management, decision making, strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, relationship management skills
    • Knowledge of IT systems and tools, e.g. SAP ERP, Sales Force, EDI preferred
    • Preferred proficiency in English language; Portuguese/French speaking will be an added advantage.
