    Equipment Operator

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build the Equipment Flow strategy based on import and export flow analysis of the region to ensure customer needs are met in depots. 
    • Initiate and drive end-to-end equipment related cost saving initiatives, including transport and storage costs
    • Actively engage with multiple stakeholders to optimize the working relationships across organizational entities
    • Own and manage the supply/evacuation of equipment on various transport modalities timely and accurately
    • Ensure stock levels are aligned with regional stock targets set by the Headquarters
    • Own and drive projects pertaining to equipment within the region
    • Deliver stocks and inventory control at inland locations/ports that meet approved forecast export bookings whilst considering agreed stock factor management
    • Collaborate closely with EMR to drive performance management with vendors ensuring customers are served with quality units.
    • Reduce long standing and equipment dwell times 
    • Manage relevant systems to ensure data quality
    • Co-ordinate with CEN EQU team regarding ongoing EQU projects, enhancements for various tools
    • Responsible to deliver a high customer experience by making sure equipment, in the right condition and the right time is available to cover the expected demand while coordinating the trade off between availability and cost
    • Understand the market demand by interacting with various commercial teams and accordingly plan for positioning/ evacuation basis location dynamics

    Ocean Fulfilment Analyst - West Africa

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Drive Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI) and standard execution framework for the terminals in Africa coverage and scope.
    • Co-own and ensure that we deliver the product and promise we sold to our customers.
    • Co-own the overall utilization and schedule reliability of a set of services constituting a trade.
    • Own vessel scheduling to meet reliability and delivery requirement, work with GMC to manage bunker consumption and drive reduction, coordinate delivery/re-delivery plan.
    • Manage vessel contingency/incident. 
    • Participate in and coordinates new deployments and optimization opportunities with Network and Marketing leads to underpin customer experience and network efficiency.
    • Engage and communicate closely with a multitude of stakeholders inside the organization, as well as external stakeholders.
    • Analyze performance of operational execution of Maersk Line operated vessels in the approach and port stay, drive performance reviews and follow-up.
    • Maintain and develop excellent relationship with various stakeholders both internally and externally (with other Execution teams, Ship management, Terminal, Port Authorities, 3rd party service providers, Maersk vessel command, etc.)
    • Engage with vessel command and coordinate with all partners in the chain (agent, terminals, pilots and tugs) for minimization of CO2 emissions
    • Identifies and suggest continuous improvement possibilities in the ways of working.
    • End to End owner of a trade lane to optimize and utilize the vessel capacity.
    • Manage and Co-ordinate cross functional to get the best results for our customers experience with Maersk
    • Co-ordinate and engage with Partners on shared services in terms of allocation and compensation of slots and vessel schedules.
    • The ability to manage the functional scope end-to-end with linking task or decision making within the role charter in the up and downstream customers and stakeholder chain

    Who​ are we looking for?

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and shipping, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of industry operations
    • Relevant degree e.g., Logistics, engineering, Liner Containerized shipping background is an advantage, while the ability to interact with different cultures and communicate efficiently is a must.
    • Strong natural drive for results, excellent stakeholder management skills and a thorough understanding of Liner operations with proven or natural leadership skills.
    • Proactive and positive attitude, high enthusiasm, and ability to cooperate in an open and constructive manner, with the aim of the greater good of the Company.
    • Good knowledge of Marine and vessel Capacity in the Operational field, and ability to recommend or conclude on decisions which protect at every moment Safety, Cost and Network stability.
    • Proven track record of delivering and developing successful cross-functional relationships.
    • Have the skills and mindset to collect, analyse, stores data and uses it to help customers or company to make better decisions.
    • Curiosity is key in understanding the Global and Local (to your responsible region) markets, consumer, and economic situation to prepare and be agile to adapt to changes.

    Job Description

    As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and executing activities related to customs clearance, compliance, and transport operations for overborder movements, including truck, rail, and LCL. You will be required to have strong attention to detail, be a multi-tasker, and have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and execute customs clearance activities for overborder movements, including truck, rail, and LCL, ensuring compliance with international customs laws and regulations.
    • Coordinate and facilitate the movement of goods through various transport modes, including LCL transport operations.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including customs forms, invoices, and other relevant documents.
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers, including vendors, to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance processes.
    • Handle file/job from start to finish, including invoicing, and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
    • Work independently and apply standards, with the ability to make departures from established processes to resolve problems.
    • Continuously improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity, while ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

    Requirements:

    • 3-5 years of experience in handling overborder movements, including truck, rail, and LCL.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
    • Strong vendor management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and customs clearance software.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
    • Available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as logistics, supply chain management, or customs clearance.
    • Knowledge of LCL transport operations.
    • Certification in customs clearance or a related field.
    • Experience working with customs brokerage software.
