    Tableau BI Analyst

    Job description

    Job Purpose

    This role will serve as a business intelligence, analytics & reporting specialist, responsible for integrating and analysing data from multiple sources. This role requires one to capture analytical and reporting requirements, perform source data analysis, develop the semantic layer and metadata, and create effective visualisation and data intelligence services - reports, dashboards, and infographics and data models. In addition this role will create and deliver end-user training and will provide support to the organisation and its clients. This role requires the capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and deploy in accordance to best practice BI methodologies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Development and Delivery
      • Use MS SQL, Tableau and any other identified tool sets to create, support and manage dashboards, reports and BI cubes/data sets for customers and internal business units.
      • Responsible for consulting with internal clients on business needs, to understands the business questions that users are trying to get answered and translates them into analytics and reporting requirements.
      • Ensure quality checks throughout profiling source system data, identifies data anomalies and proposes data cleansing rules.
      • Interfaces with internal clients to ensure successful delivery of client reporting.
      • Defines and captures Metadata and rules associated with BI processes.
      • Identifies user profiles and designs report delivery environment to meet user’s needs.
      • Develops Semantic layer or BI objects for end users.
      • Creates reports and report templates, performance dashboards and Adhoc analysis environments.
      • Develops BI tool training and documentation.
      • Trains users in using the toolset and data. Implements and supports complex BI processes.
      • Adapts BI processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.
      • Cultivates an ongoing partnership with power users in the business, maintaining knowledge of business operations, strategies, information requirements, and priorities.
      • Initiate process changes and enhancements where necessary and see to successful implementation.
    • Service Excellence/Customer Service

    Qualifications/Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Business/IT/Science preferred
    • Specific experience using Tableau Server and Desktop v8.0 and above essential.
    • Proficient with Microsoft SQL (T-SQL) – at least 3 years’ experience
    • 3-5 years’ experience in BI, MIS, data warehousing and reporting
    • 3-5 years’ experience in developing data models, frameworks and reports
    • Experience in managing large volumes of data from different sources
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Experience in Power BI preferred.
    • Experience in Business Analysis and Consulting preferred
    • Exposure to financial or credit industry advantageous.
    • Experience in Power BI advantageous.

    SQL Data Analyst

    Job description

    Job Purpose

    Provide expertise to acquire, manage, process, load, merge, manipulate, extract and analyze large amounts of data, from various sources. Analysis of bureau & internal data. Monitoring of previous campaigns to refine current processes and further enhance client deliveries. The person will be responsible for interpreting user requirements, developing SQL code, data processing through various software solutions, and ensuring that a consolidated, concise database infrastructure is maintained on a SQL 2008/2014 platform, operating on Microsoft Server 2008, all the while, maintaining the dynamic and evolving process of customer deliveries, support and service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To develop, monitor and maintain a suite of databases to enhance and utilize the data more effectively.
    • To implement strategic and tactical segmentation of customer bases for marketing and analysis.
    • To improve understanding of customer behavior.
    • Maintain contacts with external centers of statistical expertise in order to keep in touch with technical developments and to actively promote the application of best practice techniques.
    • Understands Credit Bureau Data, geo-demographic, Deeds data, and other spatially-based data.
    • Thoroughly prepare data – Retrieving, Combining and Validating Data, from multiple sources. Strong ability to recognize data errors and inconsistencies.
    • Application of agreed rules and processes to extract the relevant information for client marketing campaigns / initiatives.
    • Maintains multiple databases of campaign history and generic data, and feedback files from clients.
    • Create statistical / data analyses reports on an ad hoc basis.
    • Validates client data for accuracy and reasonability of data before delivery.
