    Planner

    Purpose of the job

    The purpose of the planner is to manage the allocation process and plan and control stock to achieve maximum sales and profit targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • In-season sales performance as well as the management of stock
    • Analysis of data to develop a pre-season business plans
    • Sales and Stock planning and allocation management 
    • Product Management (Monitor, analyse and make recommendations of product life cycles)
    • Size ratio management
    • Coaching and supervising
    • Store support and visits
    • Ad hoc projects

    JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS 

    • Commercial or Statistical degree or diploma
    • Computer Literacy (MS Office) as well as experience in planning tools, i.e. Arthur/EP
    • Min 3 years retail planning experience
    • Competencies Required: Problem assessment; decision making; detail orientation; planning, organising and control; business acumen; stress tolerance; relationship building and confidence
    • Good communication skills and a team player that can cope in a dynamic environment.

    Garment Technologist (Contract)

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    To provide a quality assurance service to Pep Merchandise department, Supply Chain and Suppliers.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Assessment and feedback of  fit,  pre-production and production samples from suppliers
    • Work as part of the Product Development team to create new silhouettes and shapes
    • Compile and create  technical briefs and size specifications
    • Approval/rejection of fabric testing reports
    • Communicate changes to  suppliers by providing technical feedback and diagrams 
    • Assist with the creation of  technical manuals in accordance with Pep’s processes and standards
    • Bulk audit assessments 
    • Store visits to assess quality of products delivered
    • Ad hoc duties (as contracted per project)

    Requirements

    JOB  INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

    • Related Tertiary qualification plus a minimum of 3 to 5 years related industry/retail work experience
    • Industry experience (e.g. work experience in a factory) will be an advantage
    • In depth knowledge of pattern making will be an advantage
    • Experience in grading and garment fit and measuring. 
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of underwear construction
    • Experience in Babies and Kids departments will be an advantage
    • Strong commercial eye to identify fit for purpose
    • Exposure to in-house systems (e.g. Product Life Cycle Management (PLM)) or internet based systems
    • PC Literate: Google Suite will be an advantage
    • Corel Draw / Illustrator would be an advantage

    Leading a store team to meet business KPIs including driving sales, cost control,  mitigating risks and stock loss, administration and ensuring world class store standards. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Increase sales by focusing on customer service and world-class store standards, maintenance of the store image, stock management and promotional implementation
    • Stock loss is minimised by having a healthy store culture and following security measures, stock and cash handling procedures.

    Fabric Technologist

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 

    Implement an integrated Fabric Sourcing strategy within the framework of the Product Group strategy and aligning this to PEP’s value positioning. Ensure product delivery that exceed customer expectations of value , quality and sustainability 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Manage and implement the fabric development and execution process in line with the business strategy 
    • Provide input into the seasonal fabric/supplier strategy process 
    • Continuously assess opportunities for value engineering with clear tracking and measurement 
    • Keep abreast of local and overseas raw material developments in line with key trends of the season 
    • Guide and influence fabric decisions in line with volume business needs as well as fashion trends in industry 
    • Review new fabric developments in industry and customise for value retail 
    • Manage and implement the fabric development and execution strategy 
    • Evaluate fabric standards and set new standards where applicable 
    • Monitor and track fabric standard within our supply base, critical path and authorise qualities
    • Development and maintenance of Resource centres (includes the upkeep of the fabric library)
    • Liaise with PEP laboratory to ensure fabric complies with PEP standards 
    • Manage specifications and technical packs to ensure product meets technical performance & quality 
    • Assist Quality Assurance department with any fabric related queries or quality issues that arise

    JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Degree or Diploma in relevant clothing related field (preferably fabric technology) 
    • 5 - 8 years Fabric Sourcing and technical experience in retail and/or manufacturing.(Essential)
    • Understanding of the International and South African fabric industry. (Essential) 
    • Knowledge of fibre and yarn manufacturing (natural and synthetic) 
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (wovens and knits) 
    • Knowledge of end to end process - fabrics 
    • Understanding the garment manufacturing process (factory exposure advantageous) 
    • Experience in problem solving issues arising at fabric / manufacturing process 
    • Willingness to travel (local and international travel)) 

    COMPETENCIES:

    Business Analyst

    Purpose of the job

    To provide a support service to the People Support Department with regard to HR and Payroll systems and business processes. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage system requirements of SAGE payroll system
    • Manage queries from other business entities within Pepkor group
    • Project Management
    • Reporting
    • Elicit, understand, document and prioritise business and user requirements 
    • Support existing applications, technologies, processes and users 
    • Extraction and evaluation of data and critical analysis of information 
    • Produce functional specification documents and systems documentation 
    • Change control, QA testing and facilitation of User acceptance testing 
    • Provide user training and assistance 
    • User security maintenance and access control 
    • Assigned tasks and ad hoc projects

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies 

    • IT, BA, Payroll/HR Related Qualification will be advantageous
    • Minimum of 3 year’s relevant systems/business analyst experience 
    • Self-starter, strong customer service orientation
    • Understanding of technical environments advantageous
    • Above average computer literacy: MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, Access and BasicSQL
    • Above average GSuite/MS Office experience
    • Financial acumen will be advantageous
    • Sage 300 People → or any experience using a payroll system
    • Understanding of payroll/HR environment 
    • SQL and scripting advantageous
    • Project management exposure is advantageous
    • Agile methodology exposure advantageous
