    Sales Specialist - Medium Voltage Products & Low Voltage Systems

    You will be working as Sales Specialist - Medium Voltage Products & Low Voltage Systems and will be part of the Electrification Business Area for Global Market based in Modderfontein, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Electrification Sales Manager Industry and Service and will be responsible for identifying and cultivating defined customers and driving the sales process from the potential lead to the final sales deal and achieving the sales targets through active customer interaction and developing solutions when required to address the challenges faced by the customer.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Ensuring the market information is updated and documented accurately in the system.
    • Ensuring the information about the new entrants or other parameters influencing the market is communicated to the service manager and sales manager. Contributing to the identification and development of new and potential customers as well as expanding the business with existing customers.
    • Acting as marketer or salesperson of ABB’s services and solutions when required at trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences and customer meetings.
    • Understanding the underlying needs of the customer and translating the needs into the relevant ABB’ Service offering. Visiting the customers for building and maintaining the relations.
    • Ensuring to be equipped with enough knowledge about the ABB Service offerings in order to facilitate the sales process with the customers.
    • Negotiating with the customer and secure the business to the agreed margins, as well as ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
    • Monitoring the sales proposals and tenders and following up on the statistics concerning sales proposals. Ensuring the sales proposal agreements are signed and that they are in line with established requirements of the unit.
    • Ensuring the payments from the customer are received as per the terms and conditions of the contract in order to avoid due payments.
    • Ensuring the customer database is updated with all the required information about the customers and meeting the expected number of customer visits as established in the target set by the sales manager.
    • Ensuring that the contracts are executed correctly and are delivered are on time at the agreed cost. Coordinating post-sales marketing and making sure the customers are satisfied and the complaints if any are registered in the database.

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum 8 years of sales experience in the electrical industry.
    • Candidates should have excellent knowledge on medium voltage products and offerings.
    • Good understanding on ABB products and systems will be an added advantage.
    • Prior experience in Food and Beverage industry will be a plus.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to drive the sales function.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.

    Business Development Specialist/ Product Marketing Specialist

    You will be working as Business Development Specialist/ Product Marketing Specialist and will be part of the Electrification Business Area for Global Markets based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to the Sales Manager and will be responsible for selling medium voltage or low voltage products or system within a designated market in accordance with strategy. Building long term customer relationships and managing the resolutions faced by the customers and identifying and developing sales opportunities.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Selling of medium voltage or low voltage products or services to the customers, focusing on the volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned business units or product groups.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promoting customer understanding of medium voltage or low voltage products or services offering. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
    • Preparing the sales plans using the various tools and performing regular status reviews and proposing recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls.
    • Creating value for the customers by using effective sales techniques and communicating the ABB offering and strategy to the customers.

    • Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensuring know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum 3 -5 years of experience in sales and marketing for the low voltage and medium voltage products.
    • Candidates should have experience in SAP and sales force.
    • Strong user experience in Microsoft Office tools.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
