    Description

    WRITING AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

    Research, develop, write and edit content for various communications platforms namely:

    • Website
    • Intranet
    • Presentations
    • Public addresses
    • Publications, booklets, brochures, and leaflets
    • Editorials
    • Advertorials
    • DCA communiqués
    • Speech writing
    • All Staff Memos
    • Any other promotional material and company official documentation

    IMPLEMENTATION OF EDITING PROCEDURES AND POLICIES

    • Initiate and develop the implementation of the official house guide 
    • Communicate, inform and educate all employees about the official house style
    • Advocate the critical business importance of using the official house style guide and provide support to the organisation in this regard
    • Ensure that all written material featured in the various communications platforms above adhere to the official house style guide

    EDITING & TRANSLATION

    • Edit all written material as listed above as well as Accidents Reports and any other official documentation as and when required by various departments
    • Provide proof reading services to various departments as and when required
    • Manage the translation of documents from Afrikaans to English or other languages and vice versa
    • Assist in the implementation of branding activation including corporate exhibitions, advertising, and publications

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualification:

    • National Diploma or relevant formal qualification in Communications or Public Relations or Journalism

    Ideal Qualification:

    • Degree in Communications or Public Relations or Journalism

    Experience:

    • 5-10 years Corporate Communications
    • 5-10 years Writing and Editing

    Legal Advisor: Regulation Development - Midrand

    Description

    REGULATION DEVELOPMENT AND PROVISION OF LEGAL SUPPORT SERVICES

    • Vet proposals for amendment of regulations and adhere to deadlines.
    • Draft/vet proposals for amendment of regulations and technical standards.
    • Draft regulations and technical standards.
    • Review final drafts of regulations and amendment to confirm legality.
    • Draft Memorandums for approvals of regulations and technical standards.
    • Draft any regulations, notices, publications as assigned by LAC.
    • Facilitate and monitor the approval process of the regulations and adhere to deadlines.
    • Draft Board and Executive Committee submissions, draft monthly reports, analyse exemptions and provide legal advice thereto.
    • Perform any other function for Legal and Aviation Compliance department when delegated to do so by the Manager: Regulation Development; provide any legal advice when assigned to do so.
    • Perform Civil Aviation Regulations Committee secretarial functions as assigned.
    • Assist technical Divisions in developing legally sound and concise regulations and technical standards. 
    • Manage the formulation and approval of regulations and technical standards through a consultative process with the aviation industry.
    • Manage Secretarial support services of the Civil Aviation Regulations Committee (CARCom) and associated SubCommittees, 

    DRAFTING OF LEGAL OPINIONS

    • Research and draft accurate and legally correct legal opinions.
    • Recommend the course of action to be taken.
    • Draft and vet legal and non- legal documentation 
    • Draft monthly  and quarterly reports to contribute to Executive  management reports.
    • Perform any other function for Legal and Aviation Compliance Department when delegated to do so.
    • Provide  general legal services

    LITIGATION PROCESS

    • Consider the merits of the matter.
    • Research the legalities pertaining to the matter and ensure that SACAA is protected against any legal risk that may arise.
    • Coordinate, provide assistance to monitor and guide the attorneys in the litigation matters.
    • Deal with Department of Transport and Director of Civil Aviation appeal matters and represent the SACAA in the Civil Aviation Appeals Committee.
    • Research the legalities pertaining to the litigation mattersand ensure that SACAA is protected against any legal risk that may arise. 
    • Facilitate appointment of legal firms following proper procument processes.
    • Coordinate, provide assistance to, monitor and guide the attorneys in the litigation matters.
    • Facilitate consultations between SACAA employees and attorneys.
    • Ensure appropriate way of finalizing legal matters in the best interest of SACAA.
    • Ensure consistent update on progress of litigation matters and proper processing and approval of attorney’s invoices.

    DRAFTING OF CONTRACTS

    • Draft, vet, interpret, and advise on contracts to ensure compliance and protect the interests of SACAA.
    • Draft/scrutinise or vet commercial contracts and service level agreements.
    • Provide legal support in the negotiation of commercial contracts and service level agreements.
    • Providing legal opinions/advice on risks associated with commercial contracts and recommend course of action to be taken.
    • Provide legal services in meetings when requested to do so by SACAA Divisions.
    • Draft/scrutinise and finalise international agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOU)

    GENERAL

    • Perform any other function for Legal and Aviation Compliance Division when required.
    • Participate in Enforcement and Exemption activities as and when required to.
    • Compile reports

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualification:

    • B Proc or LLB, admitted as an Attorney or Advocate with pupillage

    Ideal Qualification:

    • Legislative drafting certificate

    Experience:

    • 3 years Attorney or Advocate with Basic Elementary exposure as Legal Practitioner
    • 3 years Legislative Drafting experience
